Post Your Tactical Folders
After doing a search, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I've got 3 folding knives with military/law enforcement roots. The Ontario, made in Italy, has N690Co steel with aluminum scales and is built like a tank. Supposedly it's a military issue knife but I have nothing to substantiate that claim. The Smith & Wesson M&P (SWMP1600) switch has S30V steel, an aluminum frame and is made in the good ol' USA. A lock keeps it from opening in the pocket or closing at inopportune moments. The last is a Gerber Covert I've posted before, 154CM steel, various locking mechanisms with a hardened glass and silicon nylon one piece handle. All have a bead blasted finish.
Looking forward to seeing your knives!

Re: Post Your Tactical Folders
John, what falls within the parameters of your definition of 'tactical'? It appears to me as though all the 'modern' knives are being referred to as 'tactical'. Are there special features that make the knife 'tactical' to you?

Re: Post Your Tactical Folders
Jerry,
In my opinion "tactical" gets tossed around a little too freely. Like the folding Benchmade I posted elsewhere I wouldn't classify as "tactical" but others might. I'd say it's a modern folder, but I think tactical has military or law enforcement implications.
Kind of like the "black gun" lable attached to certain modern sporting rifles and handguns. Just my thought on the subject, I'm sure there's many other folders that fit in here.
*Edit- if you're in the military or law enforcement I'd like to see folders you're being issued.

big monk, that's what I'm talking about. I love that Gerber switch! The other 4 are beauts too, would be proud to own any of them.
That Pro Tech looks like it's pin point sharp. Does the Piranha has a sharpened or false top edge?

This Benchmade auto is what my ex-sis-in-law's husband carries at work (he's a LEO). Does this qualify?

Yeah, they're high but he got a LEO discount and IIRC it was still over $200.

Dogg, Very Nice! Here's the one that started it for me. This is one of the very first Auto's Benchmade came out with in the 90's. Notice the Butterfly Logo, they used on their first models. Also this knife has no pocket clip and it came with a belt pouch. Still Fires like a Rocket!

After carrying the Endura for nearly a week, I'm fairly certain this will be my permanent EDC. I have a ZT 301, ZT 350, Paramilitary 2, and just got a Kershaw Leek; but the Endura is just a really good fit.
