Good question Roland. I wasn't sure but apparently the answer is no.

Good rule of thumb. Never open " Anything " you're not sure of. ::nod:: And if it smells iffy, good chance it is iffy.

Add new member (as of this morning) "Roberthadji" to the list of scammers. I just received an email from him in regards to my last Wanted Ad that I had posted for a GEC 98 Whittler. Says he's got one he's looking to sell. Seems that he must have joined this morning just to help me out!!!
I’m a long time collector in search of rare and limited GEC AND Northwoods knives. Always looking to add ivory pieces to my collection. PM to discuss sales or trades, please!

WTB: Camillus #66 Pocket Knife
Post by lyonww99 » Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:49 am

Hello!

New to the AAPK forums. I would like to purchase a NIB (or as close to that condition as possible) Camillus #66 Stockman pocket knife.it appears the handles came in either a smooth ivory or a slightly textured ivory. I am interested in one with the smooth ivory handles.

Kind Regards,
Frank

It still is. I have just added a new aspect to the hobby. I simply string the scammers along, asking for more pictures, a better description, close ups of ricasso stamps. Eventually, they catch on and quit answering me.

I haven't been contacted by pocket knife scammers yet, but when I get phone calls about my cars warranty I string then along trying to get a warranty on my '85 Ford F150, with 172,000 miles on it. Basically I try to tie up the phone lines and keep 'em talking until they get frustrated and hang up on me. Feels much better than yelling at them.

Start sharing how much Jesus loves them. Most will hang up right away. If not, you get a chance to share the gospel.

Some of that guy’s stuff is hilarious. The one where he reports the female radio weather reporter for exposing her breast on the air had me nearly rolling on the floor laughing.

“I don’t understand sir. You say she exposed herself on the air? Did she say anything about it? How do you know?”

“No she didn’t say anything, she just did it.”

PM received by new non supporting member jill90 today to one of my old want ads asking me to email at mikescott6678@gmail.com. I always have a red flag go up with new non supporting members, after checking the internet for the username and email I found nothing with the username but found multiple scam complaints with the email.

Tying up the phone line is a great strategy. My personal favorite is to use a canned air horn like those used at sports events or on boats. I give them a long blast, and with any luck, have their ears ringing for a week. I’ve yet to have any of them call me back !

I recently received this on a thread where I was looking for Johnston USA knives. I received 1 picture (which I found on line) & no other pics. He then cussed me out when I refused to send money via PP friends and family.

Just got a message from ther457 with the following:

"You must have missed the post of louis09 about ther457 for sale some days
ago... I asked him about it and he said it's still available with him.
Here's his Email mikescott6678@gmail.com"

I can't seem to find any posts by louis09 or ther457 (tried but not good at proper searching methods).

Glad I saw the email address on this post...
