Re: Keeneredge Cranberry McClung Knives
I have not heard of McClung branded knives nor as a knife manufacturer. Can you give a brief history of this company, e.g. where & when.
A few pictures of some McClung knives would also be helpful i'm sure to many here.
And, welcome to AAPK.

Joe,
C.M. McClung was a hardware distributor based in Knoxville, TN. They were in business from the 1880's to around 1960. They sold wholesale to hardware stores around the East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Western North Carolina areas. They branded tools, shotguns, stoves etc with their own brand names. Some of the ones I have seen are Cranberry, Cherokee, Keeneredge, etc. They produced no actual products, just branded them.

Re: Keeneredge Cranberry McClung Knives
My surprise is that i have never seen any of the McClung branded knives even though i have been collecting for a long time and have a large number of knives. Makes me think they are rare, that there are not many 'out there'.
Do you know which manufacturer made the McClung knives ?

I think they must be rare. Probably a cheap knife that was "used up". Also, they were only sold in a fairly small regional area. I have heard that some of their earlier knives were German and the others were made by various US manufacturers.

Mountainad82, I have a friend who collects axes. He has a few double bit axes. He sold a Cherokee hatchet recently. I have told him that you are looking for McClung products. I will see what he has that might be available.

Re: Keeneredge Cranberry McClung Knives
Hello, I have had a few of these CM Mclung knives in the past. The one I am most familiar with is the 4 1/4" white bone Large Cigar pattern w/ Brass screws. I have seen this particular knife several times and it was made by Miller Bros. Now thats Not to say that ALL CM McClung knives are made by Miller but some were. I am sure other US companies made Mclung knives too. I hope this helps!!
