Looking for some Northwoods!!!

Post by ozark75 »

I recently purchased a Northwoods Bear Lake in Giraffe Bone. Oh, wow! I love this knife, and now I am quite smitten with Northwoods. I am looking for more (single blades), but as you all know, they are only available for a very short time at KSF before they are sold out (hhhmmmm.....I wonder why, oh yeah, 'cause they are awesome!) So, I was hoping someone here could help me out. I am looking for either a Forest Jack, a Fremont Jack, an Indian River Jack, or perhaps a Michigan Jack. I'm looking for anything in bone, wood or mammoth. I might go with a stag, but no micarta (or other non-natural) handles. Does anyone have anything they are looking to get rid of, or perhaps can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your help!

Ozark, I have a Northwoods search set up on eBay that I follow. I would guess that I see approximately 10 knives a week show up. In case you haven't seen what the secondary market looks like you might be surprised by the prices. Reseller prices are easily 1 1/2 times, and often twice or three times, higher than the original KSF price. The patterns you mentioned are highly sought after.

Good luck hunting.

I may can help?? -- you didn't say if you were going to carry the knife or collect ?? -- the reason I ask is I have a very nice ( NEW w/sheath ) Northwoods Forrest Jack, with Black Camel Bone Handles* ( only 3 were made with the black camel bone** ) --- I was going to sell it but when I took photos, I spotted a "hair-line" crack at the bottom pin "mark side" -- I put it back in the safe for a user/carry knife later on** don't think it effects the knife & doubt it will ever extend further -- hard to see,but I took photos as best I could to show you -- I gave $135 for the knife new, I'll sell it for $95 shipped to USA -- if interested, send me a private message & we can work out the details* --- anyone on AAPK can vouch for me** -- thanks, Monk ::tu::

( Enlarge the photos ) Top left hand corner of second photo & bottom right hand corner of the last photo, ___ is the best look, of the "hair-line"

Unbelievable deal, too. You're not likely to find a Forest Jack (or any Northwoods) for that good of a deal, with or without a pin crack. Way to go, big monk...keeping the true spirit of blade brotherhood alive. Right On! ::tu::

Yeah, monk has been great to deal with, and what a generous deal he gave me! Very pleased. So, anyone else have any northwoods available? I'm still lookin' for more.

Oh, I forgot to mention in the original post, I'm looking for single blade, not multi blade. Thanks!
