New 91 sectional

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Did that come from the Case factory that way or is it a display of a knife mechanics skills? What ever it is, it's neat.

That's a really pretty knife, I like the long pull spear and the very well fitted pieces. Not normally a big fan of the whittler pattern, but, I'd be happy to own that one. ::tu::

WOW!!! That's way out!!!

What's etched on the reverse of the main blade? I couldn't quite make it out.

It originally came out of the Queen factory. My opinion it was later rehandled and marked prototype. It has a pattern# for bone handles.

Perhaps Case should start marketing this type of handled knife instead of "Ninja Turtles" ::teary_eyes::

Turns out this is not and authentic prototype.

although it IS, a case classic knife, and even with awesomely done handles.. It turns out the etch is not a genuine prototype etch.

or... it wasn't done by an authorized individual.

Every time I try out the classics I get burned haha, but I will live to see another day... and another classic. haven't given up. But it add a new dynamic to my collecting

I feel fairly confident I can avoid any case xx fake, tested, xx and some older.

Now time to learn the classics, what to avoid and signs of issues.

Fortunately, I believe the seller sold the knife honestly, don't think he knows much about knives. just selling on commission. All is well here.
