The Beauty of Ebay

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

The Beauty of Ebay

Post by just bob »

I think I am right here in thinking this is a Case Classic made in the 1990's? Seller has a lot of explaining to do. How could a knife made of metal lay in the ground for 70 years and not turn into a solid block of rust? Only he can explain that. I'll bet if you tried to tell him the knife was made recently he would be mad enough to fight. The ebay auctions used to carry a warning that said "caveat emptor" which meant something like - buyer beware. Hopefully no one will buy into this story and get torched.

That's a good one. I wonder how he figures that 70 plus years underground if the house was built in 1950?

We had a fellow in Cumming, Ga. by the name of Junior Samples that could reel of those tall tales like that just one after the other.
