Questions on a case knife

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Questions on a case knife

Post by jr97 »

Hi
i am new to the forum and wanted to ask a question about a case knife that i want to buy. I do not know to much about it and how much it is really worth. The year of it is a 1997 its the 40th anniversary of the 57 Chevy. The serial number is 0562 and the model is 6240ss the knife is in a wood display case and everything is in new condition. My questions are how much it would be worth and is it a limited edition run. Here are some pics of it.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated

Since it's numbered, you can be pretty sure it's from a limited run, but without the Case Item number from the original box, even the factory wouldn't be able to tell you how many were made (and with it, only they would know). To me, value would depend on if I had a 57 Chevy or not (mine is a 51).
