This month Railsplitter (Rick) decided to donate his Boker Scout knife. The Scout has been a fixture in the Boker brand since the mid-1980s. From its beginnings, the Boker Scout series has been supplemented with a very competitively priced version with plastic scales. While in the past, this has typically been combined with simpler blade steel, the 2016 version of the Scout ABS has the same premium N690 blade as the other models in the series. Moreover, the plastic scales are the material of choice with respect to their resistance to wetness even under difficult weather and environmental conditions. Specifications for this knife are as follows:
Blade Length: 3.125"
Overall Length: 7.25"
Blade Thickness: 0.12"
Blade Material: N690 Stainless Steel
Blade Style: Clip Point
Blade Grind: Flat
Blade Finish: Satin
Handle Material: ABS
Locking Mechanism: Lockback
Pocket Clip: N/A
Item Number 112033
Weight: 5.6 oz.
Made in Germany
The first picture is just to show that the Boker is about the same size as a Buck 112. Good luck!
You will have until June 30th (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number after which entries will not be considered. The winner will be determined by the Illinois State Lottery evening pick three drawing on June 30th. The individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:
You must be 18 years of age or older to play. The first-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM after the drawing and will have 5 days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the first-place winner does not respond within 5 days, the knife will be offered to the next player on the list without going over.
The next-place winner will be sent an AAPK Private-Message (PM), and they will have 3 days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the next-place winner does not respond within the 3 days, the knife will be offered in the same manner to the next-place winner on the list without going over.
Good Luck!

My sincere apologies to the forum, the donor, and the winner -I have 2 internet pipes coming to my home and both have been down - I'll post the results momentarily. Thanks for your patience. Tom

Congratulations to Garyslt whose pick of 224 was 16 lower than the lottery number drawn last night of 240 making Garyslt our June 2022 winner (pending prize claim) ..... Congratulations .....
A PM has been sent to Garyslt seeking a reply to claim this beautiful Boker Scout. A big shout out to Rick for reaching deep for this one as 92 members were all trying to bring this one home. Please join me in congratulating Garyslt Peace

Sorry to jump the gun Tom, I was actually just trying to determine if there was problem. I will be more patient next time. Congratulations on a nice win Gary! !
So Garyslt failed to claim this beautiful Boker Scout in the allotted 5-days so this morning I declared rea1eye as the new winner of the June 2022 giveaway. Bob (rea1eye) has 3-days to claim his knife.

We have a winner! Congratulations to rea1eye who jumped on my PM this morning like a lion on the back of a wildebeest and claimed that beautiful Boker Scout that railsplitter so graciously donated.
Sad that once again the first-place winner failed to claim the prize but it seems like now this is the norm and has become a part of the fabric of the monthly giveaway. Six months into 2022 and 3 of the giveaways didn't go to the first-place winner.

I'm not sure if this even works but maybe if members enter a giveaway that they might forget about, they could turn their email notifications on at the same time. Then they would get an email when Tom sends them the PM announcing that they won.
I know, nobody's going to do that and some people don't check their emails very often either.

Who? Me?
I don't check my mails much but I stop by here daily. If anyone ever wants to get in touch with me, this is the best place to do so.
