I'm pretty sure I had one of those as a kid.
My mother was never very happy about it for some reason. Something about potatoes in the lamp shades or some such thing.

I had one as well. If I recall correctly, it was made by Schylling, and I bought it from Cracker Barrel probably 15 years ago. I got it confiscated as I went through a TON of potatoes.

My mom actually thought these were pretty cool and bought one for herself--after I was old enough that it wasn't "cool" to me any more...

We bought our boys some for stocking stuffers several years ago, they had a blast with them for a while.

I'd forgotten about them i had one in the sixties, possibly early seventies that was a metal one. Lot of fun.

Never had one of these but years ago when I was about 8 years old my Grandad made a couple of rubber band guns using sticks and clothes pins. We had many epic battles with those. Brings back memories. Really miss him.

Funny you mentioned those! Of course back then having a toy gun wasn't frowned on and shooting little Jimmy with a rubber band didn't result in a lawsuit or an expulsion from school.
I miss the days when common sense was common!
