Knife Hunting Trip

Post by dlr110 »

Wednesday morning Cheryl and I are leaving and meeting my brother and his wife in Gladewater, TX. There are around 14 antique stores there and the "Gladewater Knife Co." They don't make knives but they have a store full of sharp instruments. I'm sure that we will let the wives go on to the more Boutique type stores while my brother and I find the ones more suited to our liking. If I don't come home with a bag full of knives on this trip I'll make an eye doctor's appointment. I just hope the prices haven't skyrocketed through the ceiling.

Herb, Pick me up the following:
2 Catt's
2 KA BARS
2 Valley Forges
2 Booth Bros
2 Challenges
A few Brits or Germans, you pick 'em.
I'll pay you at the Berlin show, or how about I just let you in for free. Thanks
J.O'.

Herb, Duh! I'm losing it! Replied to the wrong guy.( Did think that was a good ride from Virginia, but not for a rabid collector).
Sorry David, the request list was meant for you. Same terms. :D ::handshake:: J.O'.

We're home now. Those were some bad pictures so I've tried to take some better ones. I'll do some clean up and polishing and then post them in the brand/maker threads.
These are the only 2 CASE knives I bought. I had been looking at that Amber Bone Peach Seed on a couple of websites.

These are 3 E.C. Simmons. Made in China
20221008_093837.jpg
These are 2 Western U.S.A. with the Badge of 1823 as the shield.
20221008_093913.jpg
The 3 1/4 " Anvil by Colonial; the 3 1/4" Old Timer Stockman; The 3 1/2" John Primble Jack Knife
20221008_093943.jpg
A Utica Featherweight single blade Brownie Knife; Western Boulder, Colo. Camping Knife; A SEARS #95248 Electrician's Knife
20221008_094028.jpg
A German Eye Brand Canoe with the State of Ohio Shield; A Moore Maker single blade lockback; A Indian head IH14 large sod buster with smooth bone handles even though they may look like wood in my pic.
