Cars, trucks, rat rods and hot rods

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Yep, a little of everything. I even see a little International-Harvester in that truck.

Here’s a 1912 Rolls Royce model 40 50 , or otherwise known as the Gray Ghost . Like most brass era Rolls the body has been replaced from a chauffeur style to custom . Body is wood, with a lot of craftsmanship and time in it. This is the 11 th one made out of 600 . This is a grail ,so to speak , for the shop . Had to give up the Locomobile, the Maurice Chevalier Packard and a couple others to pull it off . Very exciting day !! Jeff will be taking it on the Iowa Brass era Run in 2 weeks and there’s a few things to do yet . We’ve got the Coiled Snake horn, some other bolt on stuff to do . Flush all fluids and get it out on the blacktop . Will post a few more pics after it’s all put back together .

I went to a car show today at a nearby car dealership. There were over 250 cars entered, from 1930s up to 2018 models but most were 30s, 50s and 60s. So many I didn’t try to take pictures of all of them but here are a few of them. First Allstate I’ve ever seen, they were made by Kaiser and sold through Sears, Roebuck for only 2 years, 1952 and 1953. Very rare car! (Click photos to enlarge).

Nice show car pics! The Corvette is a 61. I had one back in 67 after I got out of the Navy. Had it 3 months and hit a frozen snowbank sideways on black ice NewYear's Eve. Bent the frame badly. Sold it for 300 bucks!

Thanks Ray. I knew someone here would know what year it is. I went back and edited the picture. It was a great show, wish I had taken more pictures. There was a mid-60s Buick convertible, a 65 GTO convertible and a 66 Oldsmobile 442 convertible, and several 66 Mustangs plus a Shelby Cobra, all like new. Wish I had taken my 1930 Model A Deluxe Coupe - to my surprise there were no Model A’s or Model T’s. I might have won a trophy just by default!

Wow Ken !! That Allstate is very hard to find ::nod:: . Some cars there you don’t see often !
Thanks for sharing the pics and info . It’s nice to see what others are restoring and showing off in other parts of the country.
We used to see a lot of Model A and T Fords at shows ,not so much in the last few years . Car collecting is much like any other ,it’s generational. It seems the 60 s and 70 s muscle car are the hot ticket around here lately.

Finally Spring here and getting ready for a upcoming show. Here's a few we picked up over the winter. The hemi wagon is a favorite . Anybody else been to shows or have anything to add that would be great.
