Herb gifted me with that German Scout knife, I love the uniqueness of it. ::tu:: Is that a sausage fork or do German Scouts smoke stogies? ::shrug::

Been drinking a few of these recently. Smooth, easy drinking and not to heavy on the alcohol. I believe the English refer to this as a “session” beer, a beer that you can’t drink a few of without getting wasted. It’s a very tasty brew!

These have a little nitro charger in each can so you get a really creamy, thick beer head when pouring. Guinness uses something similar in their canned beer. It’s a pretty effective little gizmo!

So yesterday after the wife and I “Woods Wander” we stopped at our fav BBQ place. They had Sam Adams Summer Ale. Decided to give it a try. End result. Beer Box was empty. Not any more. 👍

This past Saturday I made good on my plans to give Guinness another try. Much better than it was 20 years ago. Then again, 20 years ago, I was primarily a liquor drinker.

Greetings from Smithfield, VA, home of the Smithfield Ham. Got lucky on finding this brewery/restaurant right in the downtown area. Very cool town in the Isle of Wight, lots of huge Victorian homes and historic sites. I did a Sampler to go with dinner, 3 Ales and a Hefe, deeeeeeeeeeelicious. 🍻

It’s nice that most towns have a brewery or two now. My home town has two or three breweries within about 5 miles of my house. I don’t like all the beers that they create but I always manage to find one or two that hit the spot!
The samplers (or flights as they’re called here) are a great way to find great beers. They’re usually very inexpensive and there’s just enough beer in those sample glasses to get you interested.

Well guys, this is a new one even by my standards. From The Veil in Richmond, VA, my brother just picked this up en route to Corolla. It definitely has beer characteristics but a grape finish. Very smooth and a sour.

Buy wait, there's more. Another The Veil brew and equally interesting. I'm a big fan of sours and I think this one is better than the grape one.

Looks interesting John, but as a general rule I don’t care for fruit in my beer. Tried one the other day from a Houston outfit called Karbach Brewery, that had so much citrus in it I couldn’t drink it. First time in my life I ever threw away a beer! ::barf::

On the other hand I enjoyed this with dinner tonight. Really good beer! ::super_happy::
