And now, the nation's favorite yoyo, fao chi, is touting the "booster" shot for everyone who has had the vaccine shot. What's it going to be next? Anyone who believes what this radical kook says should conduct more research on exactly who he is and how much money he's making off these vaccines. Him and Gates are two peas in a pod...and the 'pod' is china.

The guy is a slick politician who has been a bureaucrat for decades, and like most of those he has made a fortune for himself. He’s been on every side of the Covid debacle multiple times. I’ll give him credit for his sensitivities to which way the political winds are blowing, but not for his abilities as a doctor (I don’t think he’s seen a patient in 50 years - maybe never!). May be the slickest politician since Teflon Bill Clinton. Follow the money!

I’ve been shot!
Dave is about to get his too. It’ll be four months until the next one, unless they call sooner. Very easy, we just went to our local Shoppers, filled out a form or two and got nailed. I have a little local something in my arm, but that could just be the actual needle. Stick a two inch pin in yer arm and it’s gonna sting a bit!

I admit that I thought everyone was exaggerating about the ill feeling after the second shot.... I did once have a bad reaction to the small pox vax, but usually when people complain of illness and sore arms related to vaccines it seems over-blown compared to what I am feeling.

I was wrong about this one. That second shot knocked the tar out of me for about 24 hours, and left me feeling pretty weak for another 24.

My wife, Ma, and myself all had it at the same time and all had similar symptoms.

I just received my second shot (Moderna) about 3 hours ago.
The strange thing was the first shot was completely painless. The second shot hurt like hell. Same person gave both shots.

Pretty much the same for me. Didn't even know he gave me the first one, the second definitely bit a little.

Generally speaking, one could argue that pretty much every law is a restriction on personal freedom in one way or another. Many laws are designed and intended to protect society from the irresponsible and selfish actions of others.

Personally, I like to drive fast. I'm a good driver and can safely drive as fast as conditions allow. Therefore, I feel that posted speed limits are a restriction on my freedom to drive as fast as I want to.

I also like to drink beer when I drive. By what right does the gub'ment get to restrict my freedom to drink and drive? I don't care that my actions may possibly harm or even kill others (or myself) because my freedom to do as I please is more important than society's need to feel safe. And if I or anyone I love is ever hit and injured (or killed) by a drunk driver, I certainly would not hold him responsible for ruining (or ending) my life since he was simply exercising his freedom to drink and drive, which obviously trumps my need for safety or life. YMMV

Of course, I'm being sarcastic, but my point is that, ostensibly, in a civilized society the citizens agree to give up certain personal freedoms for the good of society as a whole.

On a related note: I really don't understand the fierce, almost rabid resistance some people have to wearing a face mask...is it really that difficult or so intolerably restrictive? Seems like such a simple, easy thing to do if there's even the smallest chance that it will save lives and reduce suffering. I have yet to hear one valid reason for not wearing a face mask during a pandemic when it's been proven that face masks (and possibly vaccines) limit the spread of the virus and reduce the suffering and number of deaths directly caused by the virus.
There are spiritual aspects and reasons to not capitulate to Big Brother by consenting to wear mask, not the least of which is that masks are used in Muslim society, starting in the 1700's, to subjugate and de-personalize people and to indicate slave status.
The governments of the world, tragically misled as they are, are attempting to establish a Socialist/Communist regime, a One World Order, starting with the mask, and using the covid debacle as a good excuse to force the mask and further government control upon us all.
This is but one reason for the fierce, rabid resistance Y'all mentioned.

Ever wonder why doctors wear a face mask during surgical operations? (I could be mistaken, but I seriously doubt it has anything to do with ancient Muslim customs--YMMV).

And while we're on the subject of sartorial customs and significance...ever wear a neck tie or wonder where that ridiculous custom came from? ::hmm::

I'm dubious about the effectiveness of masks, and don't subscribe to the "if it saves one life" type of logic. We could apply that to anything. Every time our town has a police-related budget increase on the agenda...that's exactly how is spun.

On the other hand, I'm not at all against wearing a mask and I wear one pretty much everywhere I go since March of last year. I've slipped a few times forgetting the mask at home.

As increasing numbers of folks get vaccinated I'll see less and less reason to wear a mask.

"As increasing numbers of folks get vaccinated I'll see less and less reason to wear a mask."
You do realize that; even though a person has been vaccinated, they can STILL be a carrier of c19 and pass it to others. Furthermore, a vaccinated person can STILL get c-19. The vaccine DOES NOT make a person immune to c19...it is supposed to only reduce the symptoms when they get c19.

Masks do absolutely NOTHING to stop a person from getting the c19 virus. This has already been proven. Wearing a mask is nothing but a facial ornament to make others 'feel' protected from someone else.

Just sayin....

Yes, I am aware that it is possible to get the virus after vaccination.

I don't believe that for a second, but am aware it is spreading like wildfire on the internet.

I'm not sure that I believe masks have zero effectiveness, though it's certainly possible and I'm definitely not asserting anything to the contrary. That said, I am definitely convinced they're not nearly as effective as often portrayed.

Like I said, I wear a mask regularly. You highlighted the reason why I do...and I'm ok with that being the primary reason.

Cam...I didn't make that statement 'off the cuff'. That comes straight from the CDC, WHO and fau chi himself. I'm not trying to convince anyone, just stating a fact that has been conveyed by the alphabet soup agencies. YMMV.

I wear a mask too...but I have no faith in them. I just take many more measures of protection on a personal level.

I'm not saying you made anything up at all, quite the contrary...that others are distorting things to pass that info along everywhere.

Both the CDC and WHO who have published data about the effectiveness at preventing infection and spread of COVID. It's not absolute - noted - but it doesn't need to be 100% immunity to be greatly beneficial to society.

Most of the discussions about contracting the virus (and passing the virus) after vaccination are talking about asymptomatic cases. I think that's where the problem comes in.

Regardless, even if everyone gets the virus but don't have any symptoms...then it's effectively the same result as not getting the virus in the first place.

What I was saying in my initial post that you quoted...you can't very well tell everyone to wear a mask and get a vaccine. It makes less and less sense to continue with mask restrictions the more people get vaccinated. That's the whole purpose of getting a vaccine in the first dang place; to get back to normal or as close as we'll ever get.

As far as Fauci....I think he's political and an attention hound. I haven't listened to a word he's said in many months.

On the "efficacy of the vaccine" topic -

I have a good friend (call him "Porter") who, for his current job (delivering supplies for FEMA), was required to have an "Antibodies present" test run. I don't know what the official name of the test is, he just had to have it done. His co-workers, were also required to have the test performed.

Porter has had full-blown china virus. Sick as a dog for days.

Porter tested really high in the number of China virus antibodies found in his body.

His co-worker (whom we will call "Willy") had the Pfizer vaccine. Willy's test came back with a really low antibody count, damn near ZERO.

Just saying --- how good is that vaccine supposed to be?

Both previously infected and vaccinated have extremely low rates of infection.

So far about 6000 folks who are vaccinated have tested positive for COVID post-vaccine. That may sound like a lot, but with about 1/3 of the population vaccinated that's pretty darn low considering we're currently having over 50,000 positive tests per day.

Never have wondered why doctors wear surgical masks, but I wonder how folks who wear masks while driving alone in an automobile or walking across wide open spaces ever allowed themselves to be duped by the government and the news media into believing such nonsense.

I suspect some of the people out in the open just forget they have it on. They could be using it as a face warmer too. A pleasant side effect has been that I didn’t get the badly chapped lips that I usually suffer with. No bad cold, either.
Perhaps the car people have just dropped someone or are on the way to pick someone up and don’t want to breathe anything on the car’s surfaces.

CDC came out a few weeks ago and said it's almost impossible to catch the virus from any surface. It's passed from breath to breath. Surgeons tell us they wear masks to keep spit from getting on or in their patients, but the mask does not prevent any virus present in the DR. from affecting the patient. The virus passes right through with the breath. Masks do nothing for those around you. They make you look goofy and still the fears of those who don't know any better. They can however cause some serious health concerns if you wear them over an extended period of time and need to be changed for a new or clean one very often. This I've read from respected surgeons and it sounds reasonable to me.____Dave

Well, I took both of mine.... #1 and #2.
No big deal really (Unless there is a time delay fuse in the vac....LOL)

I really think I had "the covid" back in December (very mild) and my wife DEFINITELY had it. She tested positive. She was sick one day but stayed tired for WEEKS afterward.

I saw those in our community that got it and almost died and I saw those that got it and did die. One in particular that died was a young pastor's wife who got it from her husband after the minister of music brought it into the Church.

The key to the whole thing is just stay away from the idiots. This 6 foot rule is so much better than a mask it isn't even funny.

NOTHING used to make me so mad as to have some yo-yo walk up behind me in a line SO CLOSE that I could feel them. GET OUT OF MY PERSONAL SPACE!!!

I haven't read all 524 postings in this thread, so don't know if the mark of the beast has been mentioned yet in this thread.
I feel quite strongly that the vaccine with its soon-to-follow " vaccine passport," will prove to be the mark of the beast, since ultimately, one will not be permitted to buy or sell without the "passport."
Buy or Sell, as spoken of in the Book of Revelation, is the key descriptor of the mark of the beast, and I trust Scripture by far more than any government literature or news media reports.
