Do we have any members that are into collecting cigarette lighters in general? Not just Zippos but others as well.

Only Zippos for me, but I think TPK (Tom), for one, has lighters from other makers posted here somewhere.

A few lighters were mentioned in the below "What Else Do You Collect Besides Pocket Knives" thread. However, not many.
I have only one old lighter, and a couple books.
Perhaps a new thread for "Cigarette Lighters" would be interesting?

I have PM'd Tom but in reading the post in the link above, he was just thinking about getting into lighters.
I have a good friend who was cleaning out an old barn and found a Dunhill in the barn. In looking around Google and such, there are some very high prices on those. He is sending photos so maybe I can post some when I get them.

I remember from when I used to smoke a pipe that anything with the Dunhill name on it comes with a hefty price tag. Whether brand new or well used.

That's what I thought.
Took me back to my childhood; every home had a coffee table with a cigarette lighter and ashtray on it.

Had several but just accumulated, never (consciously collected). I smoked for 33 years but quit smoking in 1995 about three months before my granddaughter was born. Probably ten years ago, I sold all the lighters that had no sentimental value.

First time I've seen a watch incorporated into a lighter. I have several letter openers and one money clip knife that have watches in them. I'll have to put them in a separate post.

At the risk of digging up a 2 year old thread, I decided that was better than starting a new one. Recently while visiting with my mom, she said she had some lighters that belonged to my dad. I know he had smoked when he was younger, but not at any time I can recall growing up. He may have even got a few of these from his father, but I'm not sure of that. I don't have much use for lighters, but since my dad collected these, they are special to me. There's likely nothing of value, but that isn't really important to me. I snapped a few pics to share...

If the "world's first Mach III air division" is a Zippo, it could have some value. But their sentimental value exceeds their monetary worth. A very neat and varied collection!
