AAPK Member Pins?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

AAPK Member Pins?

Post by Old Folder »

Are AAPK 2019 supporting member pins still being given out with our membership renewal?
I renewed my "Gold Tier Membership" on 07/09/2019 and just realized that no pin was sent. ::hmm::

The below pin is my 2017, however I do have the 2018 pin.

I renewed last month but haven't received a pin yet either. I think Bryan has been a little bit busy. That's what happens when you're a one man band. Frankly, I don't care if I get one or not. I know I'm a member. ::handshake::

My memory often fails me but IIRC when I signed up the first year receiving a pin was something you had to request. Didn't cost any more or less to subscribe but if you wanted a pin you had to say so. ::shrug::

I got one the first year but none since. Not a big deal to me - I couldn't tell you where the pin I have is now. ::hmm:: Like I said - my memory often fails me. ::dang::

Well, I have two of them. One for 2017 and one for 2018 and I don't remember requesting either one of them. Way to go Dan. ::stir::

I didn't know there were pins...wait a minute, I just remembered ::facepalm:: Doesn't matter if I get one our not, doesn't change my support in the least. But if they are still available, I would like one to add to my collection. Something special and will remind me of Bryan/AAPK/The Crew. I could throw in a few bucks to help with shipping to me. Should be under $5 anyway. Bryan is a very busy dude, he'll get around to it, just hang in there fellers... ::poke::

I’d like one too. I don’t remember getting one. If not getting one helps the site. I don’t really need one.

I agree Jerry , I may have not given this enough thought prior to posting my O P. ::dang::
Please accept my apologies Bryan ::pray::
I received my 2019 AAPK Club Knife last week. My favorite so far.

Imagine if all of the close to 20,000 registered members we now have on AAPK contributed to our membership.
Okay... Say the mailing charge was approximately $4.00 for each pin: That's eighty thousand dollars ($80,000.00) in shipping charges alone every year and production costs of the pin not included. YIKES!

I had a dream (nightmare) last night that the "Men in Black" from AAPK showed up at my door:

"Good morning Old Folder, we would like a word with you, would you please step outside? Oh...and please bring your AAPK Membership pins with you!"
The three of us are going for a little ride.

Since you don't get a pin unless you sign up for a Premium Membership and if all 20,000 of those members went for a Bronze membership (the least expensive), that's an income of $400,000 so I think AAPK could afford it.

As a gold member I don't have one, but I don't know if I qualify for one yet.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason to the membership pins.

I'm a Bronze Member, and one of the fortunate souls who's initial membership
fee was paid for by an anonymous benefactor .... ::handshake::
I received a pin in 2018 but not another for 2019 ....

NOT a complaint, just observation added to this discussion .... ::tu::

I just found my 2018 pin. But no 2017 or 2019 pin.
