My hero Charles Spurgeon:

“We are not responsible to God for the souls that are saved, but we are responsible for the Gospel that is preached, and for the way in which we preach it.”

“God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart.”

“Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years.”

“Learn to say no. It will be of more use to you than to be able to read Latin.“

“If Christ is not all to you He is nothing to you. He will never go into partnership as a part Saviour of men. If He be something He must be everything, and if He be not everything He is nothing to you.”

“If I had never joined a Church till I had found one that was perfect, I should never have joined one at all! And the moment I did join it, if I had found one, I should have spoiled it, for it would not have been a perfect Church after I had become a member of it. Still, imperfect as it is, it is the dearest place on earth to us.”

“There is dust enough on some of your Bibles to write “damnation” with your fingers.”

“I have learned to kiss the waves that throw me up against the Rock of Ages.”

“A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats.”

“One of these days you will want a microscope to find a grain of evangelical doctrine in a dozen sermons.”

“I may know all the doctrines of the Bible, but unless I know Christ, there is not one of them that can save me.”
“There are things in the old Book which I may not be able to explain, but I fully accept it as the infallible word of God, and receive its teachings as inspired by the Holy Spirit.”

I'm a Charles Spurgeon follower also. I used to have one of his quotes as my AAPK tag line:

"Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right."

When the people fear their government, that is tyranny. When government fears the people, that is freedom.

I love that one! I swear that guy dropped quotable lines every time he opened his mouth. Here’s another one of his I like.

“The man who never reads will never be read; he who never quotes will never be quoted.”
“There are things in the old Book which I may not be able to explain, but I fully accept it as the infallible word of God, and receive its teachings as inspired by the Holy Spirit.”
