A bit of advice.

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

A bit of advice.

Post by Colonel26 »

My wife sent this to me. I think it’ll be a great way to start off the new school year with my high schoolers. Lol. Good practical advice here.

I tell my students every year that if ignorance is their problem, I can help them. I can give them knowledge.

But if stupidity is their problem, I can’t help them, because stupid is a choice and only they can fix that.

Many uneducated people think that the two terms are interchangeable. Hence the problem.

When in 8th grade chemistry class the teacher was demonstrating copper plating in a beaker. He made sure to tell us that the pretty blue solution was quite poisonous before we took turns going to his experiment desk to watch the activity in the beaker. I walked up, put my index finger in the solution and quickly sucked my middle finger dry. The teacher freaked out and grabbed me off my feet (he was a big guy and I was a small kid) and ran with me as fast as he could to the nurses office. He almost didn't believe me when I told him about switching fingers, but he sure got mad! A couple of the classmates had seen my ruse and were laughing hysterically when we got back to class. I guess a week detention was worth it.
