Murdoch series is now called Artful Derective.
Doc Martin is hilarious,
More so if one has a medical background.
Thanks! I didn’t know about the Murdoch change. I think it’s hillarious how they work all of the common day things we take for granted into the series as new inventions.

I agree, Doc Martin is hilarious. You wind up feeling so sorry for the poor guy.

Yeah I think Deadman and Edward Scissorhands would both qualify as cult classics. ::nod::

Anyone else have a favorite SILENT movie? Mine would have to be "Nosferatu" from 1922. I watch it every year at Halloween time. One of the creepiest looking movie vampires ever. The shadow scene of him walking up the stairs is something else.

I've watch bout 95 percent of the ones aready listed more than once and some many times, one I didn't see listed but may have been, is the Jason Borne series. Lonesome Dove is probably my favorite western book, and the best mini- series of all time.

SO many movies, holy cow. However, there are certain movies that when I come upon them on TV, will usually stop and watch them...

Shawshank Redemption
Dances with Wolves
Legends of the Fall
Saving Private Ryan
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Open Range
(Any of the Star Wars movies)
Indiana Jones...

Did anyone mention Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas"? How about the tv series "Monk"? Or the Brit series "Rumpole of the Bailey"?

Arrrrgh - I'm huge fan of movies of all types - old, new and many different genres. I can't even begin to list them...

To give you a taste for the wide range of movies I love to watch, I have been known to binge watch Godzilla movies, John Wayne movies, Japanese Samurai & Chinese Kung Fu movies with English subtitles, Steve McQueen movies, cheesy Sci-Fi movies from the 60s & 70s, Kirk Douglas movies, Humphrey Bogart movies, etc, etc,

I would say that the only movies I really do not enjoy are chick-flicks. Guess what my wife's favorite movies are? Yeah, you guessed it... ::facepalm::

The one movie my wife cannot get enough of is Steel Magnolias. We’ve seen it A LOT! I have to say though it is a pretty good movie.

You should read the book(s) if you haven't already. Some pretty amazing stuff written by Edgar Rice Burroughs (of Tarzan fame) and first published in 1912. The book series features flying air craft, light rays similar to laser beams, space travel and several other phenomena unheard of or seemingly far-fetched at that time, which have since come to pass.

I thought the movie, which is a condensation of several books, was good but the books were far better.

Didn't Burroughs write The Pulucidor (?sp) series of books? SciFi series about a man that invented a subterrainian boring craft and he discovers Pulucidor.

Burroughs was the king of pulp SF serials - in addition to the Barsoom series, he created both Tarzan and the Pellucidar stories. He also created lesser known series set on Venus, the Moon, the Caspak series (The Land That Time Forgot) and several others. I call his books "flashing sword stories" because whenever it looks like the hero is in trouble, you can bet the hero's "flashing sword" will quickly save the day and the girl he loves. I love his books!
