I think that's pretty funny, but I also think it's probably true and that's a little scary. ::nod::

Jerry

I need some help here. I am a baby boomer so I know who(when) they are. What follows? And what date determines, birthday? HS graduation?

My 2 sons were born in the early 80's. Are they millennials or something else? I should google this.

I thought the interviewer handled that one well.

Maybe Greg, that's why I asked. One reference(Wikipedia) indicated the beginning of the 80's is used by most as the starting point for the millennials. Also according to wiki they could be gen x depending on who you talk to.

The attitude expressed by that girl, if accurate, scares the hell out of me. I don't run into many so I can't say.

This list was posted in "Time Magazine" a couple months ago and is relevant to the U.S.A. population.

If the millenials are the parents of generation Z I'm afraid they don't stand a chance of survival. ::teary_eyes::

I literally almost cannot abide this hairstyle on men.

If you're not a Sumo wrestler, there is no reason for a man-bun. ::shrug::

I don't dislike vegans, I just think that's funny. ::tu::

There was a fashion show recently that featured men's skirts. Sooner or later, we will all be wearing the same outfits. ::facepalm::

Right on with that. Today I should feel honored to be waited on by Yungins. Fast food restaurant, that will be $2.53. Ok put down a ten and count 53 cents out of pocket and put on ten dollar bill. Yungin says I can't accept money like that, I say what? You have to pick the money up and put it in my hand. Well I picked it up and w alked out of restaurant. Bet owner would like that. ::td:: ::td::

Greg, I think Smokey Mountain sold them a few years back.
All are single blades, marked U.S.A.
The small footnote printed on the bottom of knife states: "c 1992 King Features Syndicate, Inc. Of the Hearst Corporation."

Welcome to my world. I work for a company that has many special snowflakes just like her. And trust me, a Southern California millennial is an Extra Special Snowflake that is on a whole 'nuther level of entitlement. We have people that don't come to work until 10 AM because the surf was good today. They show-up straight from the beach because we have a shower in the bathroom. Getting them to wear shoes and long pants is the equivalent of asking them to jam hot needles in their eyes. They bring their dogs to work and then spend at least an hour every day taking their dog for walks. When they are told they are performing poorly and are in danger of being let go, they go out on "stress leave" which means they become protected by state law and can't be fired. When, after being out for weeks, they finally come back to work, they are indignant that someone else is now filling their old role. When they are finally fired, they immediately lawyer-up and threaten to sue for harassment and wrongful termination.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are doing their jobs AND our jobs...

I suppose my son is a millennial ... ::shrug::
He's 17. But we have raised him differently than most.
He thinks most of his generation are idiots.

But, then he has his days . . . .

This is precisely why I was glad to retire in 2011. After 32 years with the same company there were new employees that had more time off than I did. Go figure.

I am 71, born 1946, places me at the top age of baby boomers. I have a 12 yr old daughter who lives with me. The attitude and self absorption displayed by the young woman in O.P. video is accurate. It is not an exaggeration or parody. Although much younger than video woman, my daughter's responses would be identical and with equal scorn for anyone who expects anything from her. And, i am not a wishy washy limp minded father. I have standards and expectations to pull your own load. There is no free lunch. My daughter's attitude has been acquired from her peers (which is normal, we all did it). Parental input cannot save the day here. Poverty might as our first world children loose out to the millions of third world children who are eager to study and work hard.
kj
p.s., Head Bun comment. I don't care what someone else does with their hair or what they wear or look like, etc. I only care about an individual's character: 'are you a kind honest person willing to put your own needs aside to help someone in need ?" You cannot tell a person's character from how they look, including man buns. They's just freedom of expression buns.

This is a picture from an old Case catalog. I wonder how many Millennials would apply for this job (if it was still done this way) at the Case factory today sitting in this position all day long? We can all thank our lucky stars though that there were people who would do jobs like this in the past. Notice how none of them are staring at their phones? LOL Anything to feed their families.
