Living in the Florida Panhandle about halfway between the Gulf and the Alabama line, summer temperatures are understandably hot and humid. Last week the weather forecasters said we were in for some cool weather in a few days and it turned out they actually got it right! Yesterday morning it was 68 degrees and then today it got down to 63 at daylight! Really refreshing, but summer is not over by a long shot, it still hit 88 yesterday afternoon and will probably be around 90 again today, but it was nice this morning!
Weather is always interesting, we all have it and it is so different through out our great country!

Unseasonably cool and cloudy here for August. Went to high school football scrimmage last evening - about 80 degrees with wind chill about 70!

Even knowing the news media over-reacts to a lot of these weather events, I'm concerned about Harvey. I have a lot of family in San Patricio county just north of Corpus Christi. Tried to talk them into coming here until the storm is over, but they've survived hurricanes before. Farm folks have animals, equipment and buildings to watch over. They're not leaving.

Just for what it's worth, here in beautiful Pflugerville, Texas, beginning at 3pm we just had our first little shower. Daughter in Katy has been getting it most, if not all of the day.
We (read that the bride) have been sitting around all puckered up and eyeing the weather channel since early today.

92 On my Deck at 1800 yesterday supposed to be 99 today. I caught these two photo's and what with it being Sunday I presumed I might bring up a thought about God. Do you believe he knew that the earth, the atmosphere, the clouds, the pollutants. the humidity and everything else involved were going to help act as a huge parabolic reflector and scatter the colors that were being projected over these hills this morning? These are the type of images that would be near impossible with a film camera. Imagine all the filters you would have to use stacked on top of each other. Sorry, I digressed. These pics. are not tremendous, but they can be enlarged several times to show the fading of the color lines. He was a pretty smart guy! It would be awfully hard to mix and create these hues on a painting. By the way this is the raw footage with no touchup at all. I did crop them to show the maximum subject. 0600 Aug 27 2017

Moss,
Your pictures and comments reminded me of what we read this morning in our devotional reading. In Proverbs chapter 8 it speaks of God's wisdom and beginning in verse 22 through 31, this particular passage speaks about the creation you photographed this morning.
Thanks for the picture and thoughts!

A street in Houston 8/27/17 outside my son's apartment (not his car). He manages a Meineke so he took his car to work and put it up on the lift.

The Sun this A.M. thru the fire smoke east and south of Portland. A heck of a better show than the eclipse.
The orange color of the corona is more of an accurate color than the center. With the smoke filter you could look at the full sun as you wished.

Easy rainfall this morning. Just enough to keep the creek filled and flowing nicely.

Irma is now about 200 miles or more in diameter and is currently devastating the Keys and south Florida.

Irma is making a B-line for my house. This town has no food, gas, plywood, tapcons, no nothing. I'm loading all my knives in ammo cans and putting them up. This should be a real "Happening".

.50 Cal ammo cans should be water tight and hold a lot of knives. Good idea Waz.

Good luck Wazu. Been a while since I saw the pickup truck lines completely circling Home Depot for plywood, but I know the feeling. I do not know where you are in Florida, but I guess it will be a long Sunday there.

I have 20MM cans. They're great. Neoprene seals and nice and heavy. We're as ready as we can be. We have hurricane windows and a reinforced garage door. Now it's time to see how all the prep holds up :)

I'm in Dunedin which is a little north of Clearwater on the Gulf. My house is sitting 36' above sea level. Fingers crossed, we should be above the surge.

Stay safe over there Wazu. I'm about 20 miles inland from Tampa Bay, and we are gonna ride the storm out at home. We are praying for the best for you folks along the coast.
