Good luck Wazu. Been a while since I saw the pickup truck lines completely circling Home Depot for plywood, but I know the feeling. I do not know where you are in Florida, but I guess it will be a long Sunday there.

I have 20MM cans. They're great. Neoprene seals and nice and heavy. We're as ready as we can be. We have hurricane windows and a reinforced garage door. Now it's time to see how all the prep holds up :)

I'm in Dunedin which is a little north of Clearwater on the Gulf. My house is sitting 36' above sea level. Fingers crossed, we should be above the surge.

Stay safe over there Wazu. I'm about 20 miles inland from Tampa Bay, and we are gonna ride the storm out at home. We are praying for the best for you folks along the coast.

We just finished with our Indian Summer in the 80's and muggy. Tonight we'll be in the low 50's with highs only in the low 60's for the foreseeable future.____Dave

It's named after the boat of the only rum runner in New York state history that was on the FBI Most Wanted List.
The "Black Duck" was built by Paul Scoponoich in Greenport Long Island. The same boat yard that built the Coast Guard boats made to catch her... ::hmm::

The first rain band hit my house about ten minutes ago. No wind over maybe ten MPH. I did minimal preparation since this one is not supposed to be very strong - we already had plenty of emergency supplies from the last couple of storms that missed us.

One very annoying thing about Nate is that the two rivers that I like to fish had just got back down to where I like them, after four months of high water. This storm will probably get them high again. Good luck in Mississippi!

Hey Mel, hope y'all are doing okay with the storm. Being in the central Panhandle, we've only had a few light showers. There was a tornado down in Bay County earlier. Maybe the rivers won't rise too much and mess up your fishin'. :)

Just some on and off rain here, no serious winds so far. For the past few hours when I look at the radar or satellite images it looks like it should be a lot worse than it is.

It is plumb miserable here in Marietta, GA. A constant downpour with a driving wind. I just went to Wal-Mart and sat in the parking lot for about 20 minutes hoping for a break. I finally just gave up and came back home. Mate is a bother. ::undecided::

You wouldn't even know this storm (Nate) existed here. It was sunny all day, then it poured down for about 5 minutes, and back to sunny. ::shrug::

Sorry to read about your power, Larry, and the downpour, Greg. It is kind of strange, but at my place near the Alabama/Mississippi line not a lot happened with Nate. Some wind that brought down a few trees, and a few hours of intermittent rain, some heavy. It has not rained a drop since before dawn, and just a little breezy. I think we were right at the edge of the really heavy rain.

Here what happened to my favorite river. Notice how the water went from about 3.8 feet to 13.8 feet real quick.

The spectacular Sunup's. Only one of the many things I will miss when my move is complete. For perspective Portland International is near right edge in the top photo(approx.150 degrees) maybe 75 miles direct. The right edge of the bottom photo is very near due south(180 degrees).

It has been a few days since anyone posted here but today we had a record high of 88º this afternoon. My air conditioner ran off and on during the day and I am back in shorts and a tee.
Deer season opens tomorrow and I am sure the hunters are moaning and groaning about the heat.
