THE OFFICIAL AAPK WEATHER THREAD - HOWS YOUR WEATHER TODAY ?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Probably mid-60s here. Rainy in the morning, and humid...yech.

Steady rain throughout the night and continuing. A bit of thunder this A.M. Not much lightning. Things may get more dramatic in the evening.

Sunshine and 60's for a change.

That straight line wind that came thru early this week kicked our butts.
We still have people without power.

I looked like a war zone Wednesday. Worst damage I have seen in a WHILE.

Hope your car is garage-kept, David!

We were in the 50s again, with an overnight frost advisory. I'm thinking the cold snap will be over sometime next week.

Both cars were in the garage and it only lasted 2 maybe 3 minutes so I'm not too worried about the roof. It was replaced
in 2016.

Finally getting a little sunshine today, but I'm hearing thunder from 4 directions.

It's too wet for ducks around here.

We've got 6 inches of water standing in the tool shed, my knife and hawk throwing range has 5 inches of water standing in the throwing pit and has had for nearly 3 weeks. The ground in the garden is so saturated, water squeezes out when you walk. I haven't had to water any of the veggies out in the garden since 12 May. I don't go around dumping water out of buckets/pots any longer for mosquito control as it is a waste of energy - I've got ponds of standing stagnant water everywhere, even on normally dry ground. The good news is that at least the rain is staying out of the house. For now.

We had over 12 inches of rain in May, 9 inches of which fell in the last 12 days of the month. We've already had nearly 2-1/4 inches for June. So nearly 15 inches in 5 weeks. Our annual average is about 36.6 inches per year. So nearly 1/2 a years worth of rain in 5 weeks.

May and June are historically our 2 wettest months of the year, averaging about 4.5 inches each. So we're looking at triple the annual rainfall in May, and we've already hit 50% of June in the first 4 days.

We'll all be wishing for rain come July, August and September, but for right now, PLEASE let it stop.

Rain again. Had 2-1/4 inches yesterday and 2 more inches today so far. It's still coming down, water standing everywhere, creeks running full (again).

I guess you're just as wet over in Collin County as we are in Denton County. My front yard is so saturated you can't walk on it and I saw Griffin pee on the back walkway so he didn't have to get in the grass. It has to dry out soon.

Is that going to mess up your first hay cutting, Ken? My brother mowed on Friday, perfect drying weather here.

Rain has stopped for a rest I guess. Water standing everywhere and the ground squishes under your feet where you can walk on it. Overcast with 50% chance of rain today and 70% tomorrow.

John, it will take at least a week of no rain before we can get equipment into the field to cut hay, and even then there will be places too wet that we'll have to skip.

I just went out and checked the rain gauge and it's showing 3.6 inches.
Mr. Griffin has his comfort vest on, but it's of little comfort to him.

We have had a couple of days of sunshine and high temps. I was able to get out this morning and mow the whole lot, but I had to raise the mower blade height. So I will hope for no rain and maybe on Thursday I'll get back out and mow it at the normal level, if the weather holds.

Over here in Mississippi.... We generally get what you Texas boys send out your back door.
LOL
We have had some of the cRaZiEsT weather this year. These heavy duty thunderstorms pop up in the afternoon with regularity.

I was cooking some chicken on the grill Sunday afternoon and here comes the rain! Then hail.... then high winds. They say we had 60 MPH gusts..... it was a bit hairy for 15 to 20 minutes.

Today... it looks really nice outside. Thank you heavenly Father for a nice morning!
