I guess you're just as wet over in Collin County as we are in Denton County. My front yard is so saturated you can't walk on it and I saw Griffin pee on the back walkway so he didn't have to get in the grass. It has to dry out soon.

Is that going to mess up your first hay cutting, Ken? My brother mowed on Friday, perfect drying weather here.

Rain has stopped for a rest I guess. Water standing everywhere and the ground squishes under your feet where you can walk on it. Overcast with 50% chance of rain today and 70% tomorrow.

John, it will take at least a week of no rain before we can get equipment into the field to cut hay, and even then there will be places too wet that we'll have to skip.

I just went out and checked the rain gauge and it's showing 3.6 inches.

We have had a couple of days of sunshine and high temps. I was able to get out this morning and mow the whole lot, but I had to raise the mower blade height. So I will hope for no rain and maybe on Thursday I'll get back out and mow it at the normal level, if the weather holds.

Over here in Mississippi.... We generally get what you Texas boys send out your back door.
LOL
We have had some of the cRaZiEsT weather this year. These heavy duty thunderstorms pop up in the afternoon with regularity.

I was cooking some chicken on the grill Sunday afternoon and here comes the rain! Then hail.... then high winds. They say we had 60 MPH gusts..... it was a bit hairy for 15 to 20 minutes.

Today... it looks really nice outside. Thank you heavenly Father for a nice morning!

Will you guys stop hogging all the rain. It's been warm and dry here. I've got the nicest lawn planted and growing that I've ever had and I've been trying to keep it going with sprinklers, but a nice natural rain would be really nice. It's been several weeks since we had a dribble and a long time since and real rain.____Dave

Dave the rain has finally tapered off here in North Texas and there is none in our 10 day forecast. However we are looking at daytime highs in the mid 90's with humidity to match. I'll be more than happy to share that with you. :D

Sunny today....... supposed to be more of same tomorrow.....

THEN, here comes 7 straight days of rain (so they say).

AND there is a tropical storm brewing in the Gulf. I don't think anybody but our Heavenly Father knows where it will go.

A lot of haze and smoke here today from fires burning in Manitoba. Winds are pushing it south and keeping it low to the ground. Manitoba is hundreds of miles from here, so it must be a big fire.

More humid than I'd like, but otherwise not too bad, here. The massive storm that just tore through the Midwest left me alone.

Since our humidity stays up close to 100% year round, it makes our summer's heat feel even hotter. We have been having temps in the upper 90's with heat indexes hovering around 110.... That is just too much for us old codgers. Like stepping into a sauna when you walk out doors.
When it was cold, I hoped for warmer weather.... now, I am in "it's too hot" mode hoping for cooler weather.

While we still have power, I'll post that we are right in the middle of tropical storm Fred, rain started around 3:00 pm. One gauge that I can see with my binoculars from the front porch is nearing 5". I need to brave the elements and dump it after an accurate reading to keep up with the amount. The winds haven't been too strong but still enough to get your attention, nothing like Hurricane Michael that made me a bit gun shy after 70+ years of hurricanes.
By the time I went out to read the gauges, they were at 5.3".
Rain is coming down!

Thanks, Ray. ::handshake::
We made it, power never even blinked this time! Several acquaintances nearby have been without power for a few hours but will be restored soon. We had a total of 6.1"of rain. The storm is now up in Alabama.
Thank the Lord for his protection. ::pray::
