Will you guys stop hogging all the rain. It's been warm and dry here. I've got the nicest lawn planted and growing that I've ever had and I've been trying to keep it going with sprinklers, but a nice natural rain would be really nice. It's been several weeks since we had a dribble and a long time since and real rain.____Dave

Dave the rain has finally tapered off here in North Texas and there is none in our 10 day forecast. However we are looking at daytime highs in the mid 90's with humidity to match. I'll be more than happy to share that with you. :D

Sunny today....... supposed to be more of same tomorrow.....

THEN, here comes 7 straight days of rain (so they say).

AND there is a tropical storm brewing in the Gulf. I don't think anybody but our Heavenly Father knows where it will go.

A lot of haze and smoke here today from fires burning in Manitoba. Winds are pushing it south and keeping it low to the ground. Manitoba is hundreds of miles from here, so it must be a big fire.

More humid than I'd like, but otherwise not too bad, here. The massive storm that just tore through the Midwest left me alone.

Since our humidity stays up close to 100% year round, it makes our summer's heat feel even hotter. We have been having temps in the upper 90's with heat indexes hovering around 110.... That is just too much for us old codgers. Like stepping into a sauna when you walk out doors.
When it was cold, I hoped for warmer weather.... now, I am in "it's too hot" mode hoping for cooler weather.

While we still have power, I'll post that we are right in the middle of tropical storm Fred, rain started around 3:00 pm. One gauge that I can see with my binoculars from the front porch is nearing 5". I need to brave the elements and dump it after an accurate reading to keep up with the amount. The winds haven't been too strong but still enough to get your attention, nothing like Hurricane Michael that made me a bit gun shy after 70+ years of hurricanes.
By the time I went out to read the gauges, they were at 5.3".
Rain is coming down!

Thanks, Ray. ::handshake::
We made it, power never even blinked this time! Several acquaintances nearby have been without power for a few hours but will be restored soon. We had a total of 6.1"of rain. The storm is now up in Alabama.
Thank the Lord for his protection. ::pray::

Glad y'all are OK....

Looks like "that time of year" is here again. 2 more storms out there, one headed for the Gulf. Keep your head on a swivel and don't let any bad weather sneak up on ya.

I sure hope we don't et a repeat of last year. That was too many storms for us southern folk!

May God bless you my brother!

Was just looking at THE WEATHER CHANNEL and at Hurricane Ida. It is expected to be a Cat 4 at landfall on Sunday.
Praying for everyone in it's path. Please be safe, be prepared and don't take any unnecessary chances. God Bless. ::pray::

Ida has turned out to be less than advertised up in Mississippi.

I talked to my bro-in-law this morning. He says it is not bad at all over in Jackson. He says there is some wind and rain but not NEARLY as scary as Ida was yesterday.

On my side of Mississippi, we are getting rain but no bad wind yet. I pray it stays that way.

We need to pray for all the people down in south Louisiana. They got HAMMERED by Ida yesterday.

It's not uncommon for the Potomac to flood Union St. in Old Town Alexandria, but Friday's flooding was getting pretty bad. Not sure how much water that parking garage could hold, I wouldn't want to be parked on the bottom level.

MAN... that is a LOT of rain!

Don't be driving off into any deep water. There are some folks around here that think the only route between "A and B" is through the flood waters. Then, they find themselves up to the door handles in water.

Stay safe!
