I think y'all need to wish in one hand and spit in the other one on that one. The boys by the bay will pick up a wild card slot but they're not going to win the division.

Braves magic number is now ONE.
Now if them ol' pesky Cubs will just roll over and play dead tomorrow....
Medlin vs. Wood, so that just might do it.
Sorry JerryD

Jeez Louise, Blue.
- The Braves are up on Washington by nine games.
- There are only nine games to go in the season.
- The Braves have two more games with the Cubs.
- They have a soft schedule, finishing out the last seven games of the season against Milwaukee & Philadelphia.

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
I'd like to ammend my assurances that Tampa will pick up a wild card slot. That's not for sure.
Cleveland has a soft finish to their schedule with games against Houston, the Sox and the Twins and right now they're only one game back in the wild card standings.
The Rangers have a schedule that could go either way with a finish against the Royals, Sox and the Angles
Tampa finishes the season in their own division no less. Baltimore, two games back in the wild card standings. Yankees 3.5 games back. Both tough teams and then Toronto who despite a .461 record isn't a push over. If Tampa gets a wild card slot, they'll sure earn it.

They need to get 'em when they can Ferg, cause after this next series with the Mets, they finish out the season against the Pirates. At least it's at home.
This one could come down to the wire. Lots of baseball left for a tight race like this. Anything could happen between now and the 30th. I don't see it happening but mathmatically it's possible to end the season with a three way tie for the Central Division title. Wouldn't that be something?

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
What I would like to see. Pittsburgh win the division and the Reds and Cardinals do the one game wild card thing with Cincinnati winning.
I would like to see a Pittsburgh vs Rangers W.S. but I doubt that's going to happen. Atlanta and Boston??? Sox with their third Series win in ten years???

I wouldn't worry too much about it Blue. The Cubs have been winning one game in a series and losing (most of the time) the rest.

I see that I'm not the only Reds fan on here, thanks to Philco, I've been a Reds fan since I was 6 years old. The Reds won today, along with the Bengals and Browns. I hope the Reds don't choke and can win the central divison. ftd

It's going to be an exciting week for the National League Central Division.
Yeah Blue. I saw the celebrating going on in the dugout during the Cubs game. Are ya happy now?

Alright, the Braves got 'er done - first time in a few years (2005) for a division championship. OH

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
The Braves won the NL West 1991–93 and the NL East 1995–2005 (1994 was the year of the strike). Fourteen consecutive times as division champs is nothing to sneeze at. Plus they've won a World Series every place they've played. Boston in 1914, Milwaukee in 1957 and Atlanta in 1995. Think they'll have to move again if they want to win another Series?Old Hunter wrote:Alright, the Braves got 'er done - first time in a few years (2005) for a division championship. OH
