Rangers are doing poorly against Kershaw. Just thought I'd mention it.

Lotta teams fare poorly against Kershaw - he's a stud. Aside from that though I'm kinda concerned about the Rangers chances this year. With that lineup they should score a lot of runs. The bullpen figures to be very good if not excellent. But I'm afraid they're woefully lacking where it matters most - starting pitching.

It doesn't get much better than Darvish and Hamels for your numbers one and two starters, but beyond that they got nothing but questions. Perez is one of those guys with all the potential in the world that never seems to get it together. ::shrug:: The rest of them are either injured, unproven minor leaguers, or journeyman veteran guys in camp on minor league contracts. Short of a miracle or a trade I just don't see the Rangers pitching being good enough this year. ::teary_eyes::

But I'm a Rangers fan through thick and thin so I'll be watching them regardless! ::tu::

Well I see that the Braves have collected some former big name players over the off season who are just one step away from the old folks home. Unless some of the young prospects have break out years I don't hold much hope for a decent season. Butcha never know, so I will be watching. ::pray::

It's gettin' close to time to wrap up this goat rope and get down to business. Split squad game today with the Reds & the Rockies. Split squad game tomorrow with the Reds & the Padres. If for no other reason than our pride, we need to win at least one of those Reds games. It hasn't happened so far in these spring training games. Last week before the real thing fellas. Time to start getting serious.

Cubs are leading the Reds 20-3 in the bottom of the eighth.

Looking forward to next Sunday night. Cubs at St. Louis and it counts.

Edit: Ended up 22-4

First one is in the bag only 161 left to play. 4/3 Phils. The Reds hit a 2 run H in the bottom of the 9th but not enough. The batter was named Scooter. Is there a better baseball name than that? Another man on the team is named Rookie!

Ugh! Suffered through the Cubs loss last night to the Redbirds, 4-3. Cubs pitching pretty much sucked. Cards pitching via Martinez, was stellar.

Nice Opening Day win yesterday for the Nats. The Stras pitched 7 full giving up 2 Runs on 6 Hits, Harper and Lind (pinch hitting) put the runs on the board by playing the long ball. I wasn't at the game but yesterday's weather was perfect in the area. Something to build on, my first game is April 12th and going again on the 14th. Go Nats!!!

Day 2 of the season and already we've got one pitcher who will miss his next scheduled start (Thor, blisters) and one who might miss the whole season (Seth Lugo, partial UCL tear). ::facepalm::

Watching the Cubs/Cards now. Some weird things going on in St Louis. But the Cubs are up by 1 in the 7th. Arrietta is still in there.

Ya buddy! I watched it and was distressed until Schwarbs unleashed the 3 run dinger! Then the BP took over. Pretty cool! I especially liked watching Wade Davis strikeout Fowler, the traitor!

Rangers are off to a roaring thud. 0-3 with two blown saves. I thought the bullpen was solid but the starting rotation would be a problem, but the first three games have been just the opposite.

Good thing it's a long season. ::paranoid::
