Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Gentlemen, the time draweth nigh. Big news of the day, the Cubs have reached an agreement on a six-year contract with right-hander Yu Darvish.

With Darvish you'll need one. Typically he'll throw 90 to 100 pitches through 6 innings. Hope the Cubbies have someone he'll listen to that can teach him how to pitch because his "stuff" is as good as there is.

John, how many games are the Nats going to win this year. I'm going on record with 96 for the Cubs. I've become much more positive since Joe took the helm.

Here's the predictions by the big boys.

That's the $5 before the first pitch flavor, last year they switched to Budweiser. Regular price is $8-10 so the $5 deal is preferred regardless of what they're serving up. Besides, after a few you can't taste the difference, nor do you care. ::super_happy::

Jerry, it's hard to tell with the Nats, I'd just like to see them advance for once in October. The big deal for me this year is the All-Star game.

Since I retired I buy the MLB season pass and stream it thru a Roku 3. When the regular season games start, I can many days of the season watch east coast games starting at noon and watch all the way thru the west coast games concluding around midnight (central times). 12 hours of baseball, I LOVE IT!! We don't have a team in South Dakota, the Twins would be our closest team, so I don't really root just for one team. Generally I look at the pitching match ups of the day to pick the games I want to watch and if they don't pan out I switch to a different game. I generally make it a point to see every team play to keep up with the players and teams, especially if they are on hot streaks.

The last 2018 Cubs pre-season game ended almost an hour ago with a loss to the Boston Red Sox (actually two losses, they also lost to them yesterday). That is now history.

Thursday, March 29th at 11:40 AM CDT the Cubs open the 2018 regular season against the Miami Marlins in Miami. Let the winning begin. ::ds::
All 30 teams will be playing on Thursday. ::tu::

I'm hopin' the Frillies surprise the NL East. Well, except maybe the Nats. Not too impressed with Big Jake. It always happens in Philly, get the great ones on the down side of their careers. We'll see. ::tu::

I'm with you Steve. The Phillies have a lot of young talent and if they can play as a team they may upset the NL east.

Hey Steve I'm doing well. April is almost here and baseball starts tomorrow night. Hoping to see some of the Phillies big hitters get some home runs.
Also looking forward to the Lehigh Valley Knife Show in Easton ,PA on April 21 & 22. I hope Gene (Gunsil) will have a table there, he always has some nice older knives.
Go Phillies ::ds::
