Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
5 long years since the Braves sniffed the sweet nectar of the playoffs. We re-enter the arena tonight against the team that sent us packing 5 years ago. A deep run into the series would be nice but I am grateful for the experience that these young rookies will pickup in the next few games. I believe we are loaded down on the farm and will be a force to be reckoned with for several more years. In the meantime Go Braves. Beat da bums!

Well my Braves have not fared well in la-la land tonight. 6-0 but tomorrow is another day!

I'm predicting it will be the Brewers and the Dodgers in the NLCS and as much as I hate to say it, the Brewers could go all the way. Note I said "could", not "will".

My sister's boyfriend (who is one of those Phillies fans) says it's going to be the Brewers and Indians. I guess because they're both due?jerryd6818 wrote:I'm predicting it will be the Brewers and the Dodgers in the NLCS and as much as I hate to say it, the Brewers could go all the way. I think it will be the Dodgers and Astros.

As much as I hate to admit it, the Brewers are playing like winners. As far as the World Delirious is concerned,

I'll be pulling for an all Native American World Series. Pretty much can't stand any of the rest (damnYankees and Lastros are spawn of the devil , haven't liked the Brewers since they were in the AL and Whitey Herzog caught them cheating ). So Tribe vs. Braves is my only choice, as unlikely as it might be!

Was always a little fond of the Brew Crew when they were in the AL. After they came to the NL they were designated enemy combatants like everybody else.
However, since I don't have a dog in this fight (except for someone to beat the Bravos), I think I'm back on the Brewers train for the postseason.
GO BREW CREW!

I'm happy to say, the only way that Milwaukee is going to the World Series is if they buy a ticket. Dodgers - 5. Brewers - 1

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
Sad the Braves are out, but I love the way the Sox play. They still know how to generate runs, steal bases, singles, doubles, etc.
If all you do is hit homers and strike out, we can get rid of seven players and just play baseball with a pitcher, catcher and hitter.
Don't like the way L.A. or N.Y. do it... booooorrrring.
Go Red Sox!

I was able to see both teams in person this year. The Dodgers in Arlington for 2 games and the Sox in Boston for 2 games, all against the Rangers. Also saw the Astros in person versus the Rangers. IMHO the Red Sox are the best team by far.

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
I just finished watching Game e of the World Series, Dogers took it 3 to 2 with a walk off homer in the 18th inning! Several records set: longest World Series game both in innings and time: 18 innings and 7 hours 20 minutes.
Max Muncie hit the walk off homer!
I am not usually a Dogers fan.

Went to bed about 9:00, it was tied 1-1. Woke up at 2:30 and checked the score on my phone and it was 2-2. My first thought was "there's no ties in World Series Baseball". A bit confused, then I noticed it was the 18th inning so like Scott I turned the TV on just in time to see Max Muncie's at bat. I sat there in bewilderment for a few minutes, then turned the TV off and went back to bed. What a strange experience.

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
I am not a Dodgers fan and I am certainly not a Red Sox fan but my wife and I enjoy watching baseball. She went to sleep in the 13th inning, but I stayed up to the end.
I thought the Dodgers were done when Madea got up to pitchbut he threw 2 no hitter innings!
Eovaldi has some good stuff and he really keep the Sox in the game for 5 or 6 innings. I was kind of mesmerized watching the pitching but the longer it went the better I figured the Dodgers chance of winning was. It seemed to me that Eovaldi a pitching machine. He was still throwing good stuff I could just sense that the end was near as his pitches were not as sharp as they had been.
Great game! It is why I am a baseball fan!

I watched *almost* all of the last half of the game. I fell asleep at the top of the 16th, then woke up when the announcers & crowd went wild just in time to see the replay.

Game 4 tonight. Go Dodgers
I understand Dodger Stadium closed the concession stand sometime around the 10th inning. Than reopened it soon after due to fans getting hungry.
I wonder how many "Dodger Dogs" were sold in overtime?
Perhaps many thousands of dollars. $$$ ?
