Steve it's nip and tuck between the Phillies and the Braves. That's going to be a big series starting Monday!
I'm looking forward to it Greg. I hope to see some good baseball. The Phils have gotten a little sloppy lately and I don't know why. We have a rubber match this afternoon with the Cards. Would love to take 3 of 4 from them.
The Phils looked pretty good taking the first game, 3 to 0. With a young pitching staff its hard to predict but they may have some pretty good arms right now, starting and out of the BP.

They were pretty good last night Steve. The Braves couldn't do diddly squat with them.

Sure is nice to win a series from the damnYankees!!! We were at the game tonight. NY has some of the most obnoxious fans in baseball. Which makes it all the sweeter!

If your religion requires that you hate someone, you need a new religion.
When the people fear their government, that is tyranny. When government fears the people, that is freedom.
The Phils take over the NL east lead with a win over the Jays and a Braves loss. They are doing it without some key players hitting well right now. Hoskins and Franco being 2 of them. Carlos Santana seems to be settling in and hitting.
I see where the fans at damnYankee Stadium yesterday booed Justin Verlander when he was pulled after 6-2/3 innings, only allowing 1 run. Not unexpected by their classless fans after what I experienced from some of them here a couple weeks ago. Don't like the Lastros either myself, but good baseball fans appreciate a good performance when they see it, regardless who did it. Unless they have reason to believe he is cheating, he should have at least received indifference, or at best polite applause for his performance.
I believe this to be the sign of more deterioration in our society. The great Stan Musial was given his nickname "The Man" by respectful Dodgers fans in Brooklyn. It was a different time, where good sportsmanship was the norm.

The Cubs vs Mets game this evening was a marathon. They each scored one in the sixth and it was all zeros on both sides of the scoreboard until the 14th inning when the Cubs scored six for a final of 7-1.
Cubs put in some kid named Farrell in the 8th that they had just brought up from the minors. He gave them five scoreless innings, had 7 strike outs with only two hits. Wow! Can we keep him Joe?

We took in a Braves game Friday night after all day at the Blade Show. My wife is a big fan of Charlie Culbertson and i got word to him though a former teammate to ask him for a sign ball, next thing I know I’m on the field with getting my picture with him.
He’s a great guy.
Braves won that night too

Larry what a great time that must have been! Charlie Culbertson was the hero today with a two run homer in the bottom of the ninth 4-2 Bravos over the Nats.

Visiting my son in NC and he doesn't believe in TV or newspapers so I can't keep up with the Phils Jerry, how'd they do against your Cubs?

Steve if you can get an Internet signal to check AAPK you can get baseball scores and info at http://Www.mlb.com. One of my favorite web sites. Scores, box scores, stats and updated in realtime. It's free, unless you subscribe to mlbtv which has a fee.
I think they even have the Phillies and Cubs too!

The Bravos move to a 2.5 game lead over the Nats with a 1-0 win over the Padres tonight. So far this has been a lot of fun. But as Jerryd always reminds us it's still early.

Need one more from the Cardinals tomorrow for the sweep (fingers crossed). Brewers lost to Philly today so Cubs are only a half game out of first place in the National League Central.
