Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Now that the playoffs have been pretty much decided (except for Milwaukee/Denver and Boston/Yankees) does it seem to you like everyone's playing their second string and either resting the first line troops or checking out talent for next year?

No way that the Phils or the Mets would be beating the Nationals if they were running all of their starters out there.

Well Harper has been hurt. I think he played in the last game with the Phils, didn't do much.

I can't understand what they're thinking by letting Pete Mackannin go after this season. What a shame.

I'm listening to the Phils/Mets game on TV. Broadcasting tonite is Tom McCarthy doin play by play, Mike Schmidt and John Kruk doing color. Kruk just basically said the modern players are p+++ssies and need their hands held when they go 0 25. He won't last long on TV and that would be a shame. I love his take on this stuff.

The Cubs are the best batting baseball team, post all-star break. Pretty interesting.

Indians are the best in pitching.

Phils win their last for 2017 11 to 0 over the Mets. Nick Williams hit an inside the parker. Noah S for the Mets looked good for 2 innings. Threw a few 100 mph fastballs.

My beloved Redlegs finished with a 90+ loss year for the third straight season.

The glory years of the Big Red Machine are but a distant memory.

All you guys that have teams going on thru the play-offs, root your teams on.

For me, I'll be watching Andy Griffith re-runs!

My bride and I are watching the AL wild card game. I can not believe the size of Aaron Judge, the guy is a very big man! Wonder what he was eating all those years. 52 homers this year so he can play some too. :D

I don't know about surprised but I'm pleased with the results so far. Very happy that the Indians had that big comeback and then hung on to beat the Yankees. Of course Hendricks performance yesterday put a smile on my face.

If the Indians don't put the hated Yankees down like dogs then the whole Jay Bruce trade will have been for naught. :x

Do the Damn Yankees get any love outside the Bronx (and the broadcasters)? They're my favorite team I love to hate.

You and every other Cubs fan! It was a delight to watch Hendricks perform last night.

Bottom of the 5th now and Lester is having big troubles... he's not looking right. Montgomery is warming up.

I'll root for the Yanks when they play the Red Sox. I dislike that song they sing up there in Fenway. ::tu::

Hendricks did a real nice job with the Phils, was sorry to see him go but knew that was his destiny in Philly.

Anyone else find it curious that Aaron Judge never hit more than 23 home runs a year in his entire professional career, until this year? He had 410 plate appearances in AAA ball last year - hit 19 home runs. Got called up to the damnYankees late last year and had 95 more at bats - hit 4 home runs.

Now in 2017 he hits 52 home runs! Wonder how he managed that sudden transformation? ::hmm::

I suspect both Stanton and Judge might experience some increased scrutiny over the off-season... ::hmm::

I was thinking more along the lines of PED. Are HGH considered a PED?

It's definitely a PED but since it occurs naturally in the human body they have a hard time detecting abnormal amounts.

Gut wrencher in Wrigley... and Cubs win... 2-1 over the Nats. We survived 4 errors.

One more and we're off to the NLCS and probably a rematch with the dastardly Dodgers. ::tu::

This is a big one and he knows it... it's at Wrigley and it'll be all electric and crazy. I'm thinking Jake will feed on it and deliver.
