Big Gator

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

I'm thinking I might just start avoiding Florida all together. Those gators you fellas have been showing are bad looking SOBs.

Maybe I'll just make sure to bring a big Bowie knife with me if I ever go down there.

Yea.... That's what I'll do. ...get me a biiiig Bowie. ::nod:: :)

I think I could take one down. :lol:

Me thinks you guys should get a Katana :mrgreen: Ya know, one of those 3 1/2 foot ones. If that doesn't do it, fall back on a .44 mag :mrgreen:

My Thoughts exactly ::sneaky::

Huck, I think I would need a 3 1/2' katana or bigger just to take out an 18" gator let alone an 18' version :shock:. :lol:

I think it would be best to consider the gun option on second thought. ::nod::

An excuse to buy a gun would be better than an excuse to buy a Bowie ::drool:: I don't have a .44 mag in the arsenal. I'll have to see if the better half might want to go to Florida this year so I can get me one. :D

Having lived in Florida for ten years and being a bit of an outdoorsman, some of my most vivid (and frightening and exciting) memories involved gators. Since I left however, with the huge increase in those bad boys, one need not even leave the suburbs to have some real adventures with them. Heck, just being within the city limits does not mean a person won't run into one.

I can tell you from personal experience that a .22 mag is all the firearm you need. Still, I tended to carry, either in a boat or on foot, a .357 mag 'dutch loaded' (alternating in the cylinder slugs and shot shells) because snakes were the much bigger threat. The meat of a gator tail is delicious!

That is quite a monster you've shown us! I never saw one that big!
