If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Good Morning AAPK!
Coffee was good.
Found out the store has plenty of pennies.
Guess I will continue to clean up my hard drive.
Looking for the magic penny!

Sturgis, a bunch of crazy fun memories from 1973. Camped in city park, Boones Farm Strawberry Hill by the case. Geez, just realized that was 48 years ago! Gawd I’m old.
Need to fill bird feeder, dang sparrows I want to see some pretty birds.

Work at the shop today. Off tomorrow, will be a a a family shooting range day with son and grandson. They both can out shoot me, I must Have taught them well.

Have a great day all!
Morning Boji, City park and Boones Farm , that was some years ago wasn’t it. It’s sure changed , we won’t even go into Sturgiss, the party days are over. Will hit Needles pass, Custer and some other great places, and sit by the fire and talk about the days gone by. The years are adding up .
Don’t work to hard today.
We never spent much time in Sturgis other than at the campground. Spearfish Canyon ride, Bridal Veil Falls and a little restaurant somewhere in the canyon where we had the best fresh rainbow trout are my favorite memories. And Deadwood, before all the casinos.
A personal note, the then boy friend that I was with, said when we were at Bridal Veil Falls, "Someday I want to marry you here"
We were a couple off and on from the late 60's until we got back together for keeps in 1990. Got married, but wasn't there :|

Good morning fellow diners, i got in early to get the coffee going, we had a chill to the bone cold day here today, started off fairly mild, but the warmest part of the day was around 6am. Then we had cloud cover with a wind straight off the ocean, hovered around 50 degrees all day, but with wind chill felt like about 40. But did have one thing brighten up the day, i lashed out and bought some new sharpening stones, i have been reading about them for years, but have never had them in the hand. They are simply beautiful, nearly to good to use, but they will look better when they start to age, some Arkansas stones, a belgian blue and a cordovan leather strop. The quality just stands out. Hope you are all well, and enjoy your coffee. :)

Morning Cudgee, Thanks for opening up the joint. We had a little cold snap here as well, but will be back in the 70 s / 80 s today with humidity returning. Sounds like you picked up a few nice stones, hope they work out well for you. Do you use a oil with your stones when you sharpen ?
Happy Hump Day to the work force out there. Morning to All. Wife and I are going to start taking some 3 and 4 day weekends,to use up some of her Vacation. So been sitting here day dreaming about places in a 4 to 5 hour radius of home. Realized that there’s a lot of places that haven’t been to right around here . Ft Snelling,House on the Rock,Crystal Cave , Musuems and Parks in the Twin cities, and parts of Door county, just to name a few . Been kind of a eye opener, lived here 40 years and haven’t seen much of the things around here! So no flying off to some other place ,will stick closer to home. Never cared for crowded airplanes and airports,so like this idea.
Time for more coffee and then get after some things around here ,you all have a great Wednesday, let’s get after it !

::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: I usually use water with some detergent, most of my stones are cheap AO water stones, but still do a really good job. I use oil on my stones that i sharpen tools with, i have never had an issue with oil, but a lot don't like using it. I am tossing up about oil or water on my new Arkansas stones though. ::undecided:: Enjoy your coffee. :)

Morning folks, 🌡rather chilly 54 this morning but supposed to hit the low to mid 80's by afternoon. We had a beautiful day yestiddy high in the 70's with a nice breeze, most enjoyable time on the golf course with some good buddies, the golf and I use that term lightly was kinda ugly but the camaraderie and laughter was great.
The critters are fed.
The deck on the Badboy slipped a little the last time I mowed so I leveld it and snugged down the bolts. Looks good to go in a couple of days.
Nothing much on the agenda for today, the boss is going out shopping with her best bud so l'm King of the roost for a little while..
Have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Good morning. Looks to be a nice day here. I have a pastoral search committee meeting this morning. It looks now like it's going to be a long process this time and a busy time ahead for us deacons. Jane is working like crazy on a lap quilt for grand daughters boyfriend as a grad. present. She makes one for each grand-kid as they graduate and has made about 10 so far and has a bunch to go yet. The boyfriend has gotten to be a grand-kid type relationship to us even if they break up at some point so he gets a quilt. Have a great Wednesday and be safe.____Dave

Good Morning all, and hope you're having a great week. Critters are fed, my morning walk is done, and it is a very damp 65 degrees here. Lot's of dew out this morning. The humidity supposed to move out and weather feel a little better by this evening. But this is the south, where we usually have air you can wear. Need to run by the hardware store and run some other errands, about all I have planned for the day. You guys be safe, and have a great day.

Glad you found some new stones you like Cudgee. The last time I bought some new ones, they were some Arkansas by Smiths. I have only used water. Works great, and you can just soak them before use. I learned that from some more expensive Japanese stones I had purchased for kitchen knives. On my stones for my hatchets and other tools I have some different stones and use "Norton" sharpening stone oil. It doesn't have a strong smell, and can use it in the house and the Missus doesn't complain.

Gald your having a great time David. I'm gonna guess you went by TK&C. If so, I know you had a great visit. I went by there the last time I was near Houston visiting a cousin. He had told me about the place. Unbelievable what all they had. Right in the middle of some farmland.

Good Mornin', Folks.
Been up for a couple of hours. Coffee, news, breakfast and devotions are completed and just now getting back in the bedroom we call the "office". Today's weather started out overcast and then there was a hole in the clouds for a good while and the sunshine came out and now we are back to clouds again. The rain event yesterday ended up giving us 4.2" with no run off. Grass is growing, the raised beds are growing and I'm so tired of my shoulder brace! Tomorrow Miss Joy and I both have a regular 6 month checkup/appointment with our family doctor, one of them "come fasting" deals, blood work then out to a local restaurant for breakfast. ::tu::
Miss Joy just said, "It's sprinkling again." Liquid sunshine, normal for Florida.
Y'all have a great "hump day"! Where is Chris this morning?

I'm assuming you found Mott's Hardware/Texas Knives and Collectibles? Allegedly the largest dealer in Case knives in the south. The one time I went through Spurger (it is WAY out of the way from anywhere), the whole area had lost electrical power due to a storm and the store was closed.

Afternoon y'all.
I came home and cut the front yard.
Then I noticed that the back yard looked as though it had not recently been mowed.
So anyhow I'm trying to get dry.

Morning all, coffee is on. Been reading and watching the worst of human behavior today, when the storms went through here 2 weeks ago today, a fair few of the homes affected still have roads cut and no power. The emergency services and the army have been helping with the clean up, and donated generators to those who need them, great stuff. Now human behavior never surprises me, but the scum looters have gone through the area, taking whatever they could and bolted down generators, these vermin have targeted these poor people and come prepared. I can't say what i would do to them, but they would only do it once shall we say.. makes me so angry. Anyway you all have a good day. ::tu:: :)

Good early morning!
Had a great time yesterday at the shooting range with son and grandson. Grandma still has it, my targets looked better than theirs which was a pleasant surprise to me. Probably went thru $500 worth of ammo at today’s prices.
Dog was naughty while we were gone, she ate 3 dozen chocolate chip cookies. Good thing she has a cast iron stomach.
Up at 5:30 to say goodbye to son as he heads back to Branson.
Be good you all!

Good morning all. According to the weather guessers it looks like we're going to have our own mini-monsoon season over the next several weeks. They're saying rain, rain and more rain. Have I ever mentioned that I HATE rain?

Today is my weekly lunch with my buddies and I dare not linger because I have a package that will most likely be out for delivery. Wouldn't want to tempt the porch pirates.

Morning All, and a happy pre Friday . Sitting here watching the birds and critters chasing each other around trying to decide what this day will bring . It’s muggy with chances of rain all day ,so maybe a good Day to get to the shop and get a few projects done.
Cudgee, agree with you in regards to the low life types that steal or take advantage of the unfortunate situation people are in because of weather . They ought to lock them all up.
Boji, that’s neat that you and family got out to the Range.
Treefarmer, hang in there buddy ,you’re almost there.
Have a good one out there everyone, enjoy ! Life’s too short not too .

Good Mornin', Folks.
Kinda' foggy and overcast again, same old weather, scattered showers and humidity to accompany our 90 degree days. Could almost see the moon as it was almost full last night, an odd glow in the clouds. Full tonight, always neat to see!
No coffee this morning, 8:00 am check up with our family doctor for both of us.
One of our friends from church brought us a big sack of vine ripe tomatoes yesterday morning. Needless to say we enjoyed tomato sandwiches with Duke's Mayonnaise yesterday at noon! ::tu::
You're right J.P.! One more week, the Good Lord willing, we'll be gettin' ready to pull out for a 9:30 appointment with the shoulder surgeon in Panama City! ::ds::
Y'all have a great day!

Reading about Tomatoes reminds me of when as kids, we would sit in Grandma’s garden and eat tomatoes till we got full. Not a good idea for a 8 year old . To this day still can’t eat raw tomatoes, all because I didn’t listen to Grandma, like em in chili, pasta sauce, etc, but not raw .
