I was able to zero my Colt AR 15 Match Target HBAR today,
Shooting range is only 25 yards.
Started out with .223 55 grain with twenty shots.
Finished with 5.56 55 grain four shots.

Very pleased so far and hope to get out to 300 yards next.

Good Morning Guys !!!! --- been refinishing the stock & forearm on a 1972 Winchester Model 94 30-30, that I traded for recently* -- I'm about 4 days into the project and plan on about that many more days, or till I'm "happy" ( I let the finish dry for a day with each process*** ) -- have also worked on the receiver with some cold blueing (Oxpho-Blue) with only slight improvement ( but I can live with it** ::smirk:: ) -- thought I would share, I'll update, when I get the rifle finished and assembled -- take care,Monk** :)

from day 1* -- day 4*

Nice refinish Monk... ::tu::

Bigbore I like your S&W, I've always been wheel gun fan.

This Ruger Redhawk will handle 45Colt and 45ACP in full moon clips.
My 45Colt loads are "bear killers" 280 grain.
The 45ACP is 230 grain hardball.
I changed the sights to a green front and V-notch rear, very quick for me to pick up.

If you zeroed at 25 yards your going to be way off when you start going for distances. That caliber isn't a flat shooter. If you keep to 25 yards you'll be deadly.

::hmm:: Looks like your shooting low @ 25 yds. You'll need to be above the bullseye to be on target at a distance. I think there's a chart to sight in at the distances you need@25 yds. for longer distances. ftd

Depends on if the rear sight elevation was set at 8/3 , 6/3, or 'Z' mark when zeroing at 25 yards.
Cam, I think you'll be O.K. at 300.
If set at the 8/3 or 6/3, then you want to be about 1.5" low at 25 yards. If zeroing at the 'Z' mark, you want to be dead on at 25 yards.
This guy 'splains it pretty well.

You are correct blue,
I was on paper the first two shots at 300 yards...
More fine tuning needed but still happy with my shots
8/3 plus one click zero at 25 yards

Since we are on the subject of AR's and 45's I'll brag a little more... :)

Mine is a Colt M4 carbine with EoTech sight. This rifle likes 62gr green tip AP.
I'm a little high at 50 yards but dead on at 200 and that I consider my limit
with this one.
