Don't think it's a ruger, looks like a cheapie to me.
Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
Looks like the 4th bullet stuck in the barrel near the muzzle when he fired the 5th.
Are there 2 bullets inside the barrel?

I didn't think it was a ruger either. I asked if it was a hi point. He said ruger The barrel was empty when I looked.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
I've never had it happen, but I've seen some come in the shop like that. Usually caused by a barrel obstruction of some sort.
Could have been a squib load that did not clear the barrel. Next round pushed it out, but barrel pressure spikes dramatically.
Scary. Last one I saw was a .22 LR. It had four rounds fired into the stuck bullet. The barrel didn't fail like that - just swelled up.
All the projectiles were still in the barrel.

That's what I figured Blue, these guns while cheap are pretty substantial.

I'm going to guess it's because a .22 doesn't have the same "punch" as a 9mm.rangerbluedog wrote:I've never had it happen, but I've seen some come in the shop like that. Usually caused by a barrel obstruction of some sort.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
Any chance he was using overpressure P+ rounds in that weapon?
The split in the barrel is very similar to one I saw from a friend's cheap M-4 knockoff in which he used NATO rounds instead of typical .223 loads. The added pressure caused the barrel to split and he only noticed it because of the flare and smoke out of the side. If he shot rifles lefty like I do he may not ever have noticed until it was too late.
Thought I had a photo in my Flickr account but I guess it's saved elsewhere...

My wife got me this one, an Italian Tanfoglio EA380. First I've ever heard of the company but after researching, I discovered they have contracted with the Israeli and Italian military and used to make the earlier Berretas. Also, they are popular all over Europe for competition shooting. Very happy with it and it didn't break the bank.

Two fine looking handguns Yehuda.
I just recently added a new pocket pistol, the Ruger LCP. I thought it might come in handy to have a bit smaller and more concealable pistol on occasion. For some reason, this one caught my eye over the standard black model.

My wife likes hers. It's a great pistol for the money. I've never been disappointed with a Ruger. Cool finish too!philco wrote:Two fine looking handguns Yehuda.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
I've shown this in the past but given the previous photos of minimalist modern semi-autos I thought this old timer would not be out of place. It is a Grendel .380. It had bounced around in an Arizona rancher's tool box for more than a couple of years. It has never malfunctioned despite my attempts to induce a failure. At suitable distances it has very good accuracy. Recoil impulse is sharp.

Well, what the heck. Keeping with previous posts, here's a little Kel-Tec in 32 auto.

A slick little unit like makes a great argument against my habit of EDCing a full-frame semiauto. It's a lethal work of art. Agreed Tony my friend. Fine firearm. I mix up my carries. Even carry two at times. Main and backup. Personally, I always gravitate back to my SIG P220 5inch DA/SA in 10mm with 2 spare mags. At just under 3 pounds loaded, not for everyone.
Just like the idea of 185 grain at 1300 or 1400 FPS if the situation calls for a firearm. Range or otherwise.
One on the left in the pic. Don’t mind carrying the other two either.

You would get along great with my buddy John. He's a guitar freak. I think at last count he has slightly in excess or 50. He's as bad about guitars as I am about knives. My hobby's cheaper.Yehuda wrote:Great firearms everyone. Those Sigs are furious!
