When the people fear their government, that is tyranny. When government fears the people, that is freedom.

Sign in Arkansas Walmart years ago on a rack selling snack bags of chips: "25 cents each or 3 for a dollar". Had to show my wife and ask her if I was reading that right. Yup. I grabbed four bags and told the cashier I'll pass on the generous offer of 3 for a buck and pay the full price of a quarter apiece. She looked at me like I had two heads.
Take care and God bless,

Looks like a lovely place! And I think the little 4x4 is an UAZ 469...am I correct?

Yes, you are correct. Along with UAZ 52, GAZ 69 and Lada Niva are still in use. Their fans are residents of remote mountain villages, hunters and off-road enthusiasts. Restored, they reach quite high prices.

No Bill I don’t. My grandfather made it when I was young and always used a stick or pencil to make it go. He called it a whimmy diddle to grind smoke on!

It’s a gee haw whimmy diddle. I’ve made several, putting your finger on top or bottom as you hold it can change the direction the propeller moves.

Correct c-wade!! I’ve heard a lot of different names for it over the years. I’ve mystified my daughter and granddaughters and grandson with it before, showing them how you can tell it to change direction of the propeller, Ha!
