SHOW US YOUR PETS!!!

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Another nice thing about being in a rural area. Such programming is almost nonexistent in urban areas. I used to live in Fresno, CA, and the swap and shop radio show there was done away with in 2016.

Sorry to hear about the English Shepherds. And Salley is a very cool dog. Hope she'll tree as well as Pepper does!

In the morning the boys and I are planning on taking Miss Sally to the woods and see if she can’t accidentally bump into a squirrel.

I thought I’d share this old hound hunter hack with y’all. It might come in handy if you ever have a pup out in the field sometime.

Hunting bred pups, no matter how well trained, often don’t want to be caught when out in the rough with all the new smells and game about, especially if they think you’re going to put them up.

You can hook a long check cord to them to help catch them, but ropes, etc get tangled in the brush and fences. Sooooo, take a long piece of string trimmer line, tie a snap to it, and hook it to the dog’s collar. It won’t get tangled in the brush and you can get hold of the dog while you’re training.

Works like a charm. It helps if it’s a bright color, but this is all I have at the moment.

Not showing off my hound but a question.
Have any of you heard of or had Canine Pneumovirus in your area? It is similar to "kennel cough" but different and the vaccine does not cover it. Very contagious, treatable with antibiotics . My vet office was confirming 20-30 cases a day several weeks ago, has slowed down now. All boarding facilities are shut down except for emergency needs, dogs parks are closed, people are told to not allow any contact between dogs other than your own, and not to take dogs to the groomers. If not treated early full blown pneumonia results. I have nicknamed it Canine Covid.
Fortunately my dog is not social with other dogs and the last time she was boarded was Easter so we are OK.

I’ve heard of Kennel Cough, but not this one.

Haven't heard of such a thing being in my area, but I'll stay vigilant. Thanks for the heads-up!

The signs of it are coughing and sneezing and possibly a fever. Just wanted to give a “heads up” to the dog owners. It is not common, the way it was diagnosed here was by sending a sample to the state veterinary lab.

::tu:: We'll Go get her on Sat. Leaving here pretty early at like 07:30 for the 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive. Depending on how many pee-pee stops we need and hopeing there is not too much traffic or construction on the Autobahn. We are all excited about getting her. Even me! ::nod:: ::super_happy::

Yes, that’s a hedgeapple, aka horse apple. I was sitting on the porch when they brought it to me and put it in my lap, where you see it in the picture. Then I got “the look”.
