YOUR USER NAME
Re: YOUR USER NAME
When I was a kid, Hutty was my nickname and a play on my last name. So since this is a knife forum I just changed it over to Cutty.
There were other plays like Hut, Hut Two three Four ad nauseum but Hutty was most used

Re: YOUR USER NAME
When I was struggling to come up with a nick name for AAPK "Whiskey in the jar" from Metallica was playing in the background:
As I was goin' over
The Cork and Kerry mountains
I saw Captain Farrell
And his money he was countin'
I first produced my pistol
And then produced my rapier
I said, "Stand and deliver,"
Oh, "or the Devil, he may take ya"
So if anyone of you was thinking that I am a sailor or such I have to say "nope" - couldn´t get a wicker basket over a duck pond....

Re: YOUR USER NAME
I call you Skipper because you call yourself Captain and whether it be military, sea going or law enforcement, Captains are usually called Skipper. Besides, I'm rather partial to nicknames in case you haven't noticed.
I guess I could just call you Frank but then what fun would that be?

I am Dave, my wife of 45 years is Jane and when we went on line years age we had 13 grandkids so we went with djknife13. Now we have 20 grandkids and great-grandkids but I'm too lazy (or busy) to change the number so it sits at 13.

Spent last Sat. with one of my 13 year old granddaughters at a knife club meeting. Great times I hope she will always remember.

Re: YOUR USER NAME
Always fun to read.
It's my real name backwards - Evets Nedraw.
Just kidding. Wasn't in a clever mind set when I registered so just stuck with what I know.
Funny story about my name, though. I was named after my grandfather, Gerould (hard G, as in gate) Leslie Mallar. Don't know why, but everyone, including my grandmother, called him Steve.
And I spell my full name the correct way, not with a "v".

Re: YOUR USER NAME
Funny - I just found this part of the forum and I've been on here since the middle of May ..... and there is some cool stuff here to get to know some of you fine folks better ....
Oh well - LongBlade - some of my first knives were hunters and dirks so the moniker sounded good as I like long blades .... I do have all types of blades including some on the smaller side but LongBlade sounded better than ShortBlade
Cheers
Lee

Re: YOUR USER NAME
I've read through page 3. This is interesting. I'll read the rest later. My user name is just my wifes and my initials for Dave and Jane. I had just started collecting knives so we threw that in our EMail address and just used that for a user name also to keep things simple. ___Dave

Re: YOUR USER NAME
When I worked as a pipeliner, all my buddies knew I was raised on a cattle ranch and dressed sorta that way and well I'm from Oklahoma, what do you expect? Vanilla Ice?
My friend always used to clown and pull his pants down short legged and baggy below his butt and stick his toe out tapping going "You lil cowboy you" making fun of my pointy toe boots. I just let em laugh, they are Leddy Bros, Ft Worth Tx. custom handmade for my foot and walking/wear pattern, fit like a glove and cost more than their entire emsemble and somes wardrobe. Every where I went all over the country people remembered that and it just became my name to them. It was always some of the same guys everywhere even clean up in Idaho. Work was a small niche of networked highly skilled people. To this day some don't even know my real name. They just call me that.
I was trying to register on a site will millions of users. Typed in Cowboy.. no dice taken, its always taken, everyone and ther brother-in-law has a wanna be a cowboy in the family.. Typed in 'Cowbaby "my other nickname they used for variety... believe it or not... taken.
Thought about trying Bo Diddly, but on a whim typed Cowdiddly.... works like a champ first try everywhere, NOBODY ever uses that retarded made up name.
