Welcome, from south Texas! I made a few trips to CT...over the last few years...when my son was stationed at Groton. Very pretty...it's just that winter thing that gets me. Wish I had been able to make it to some of the knife shows you guys have.

Yes--good call. I think I've already started gravitating towards a certain general style: serpentine handle, small-to-medium size, well made. I've really bonded with my new Case Peanut--though I'm sure I could be unfaithful to her if the right Pattern 18 stockman waltzed into town.Lots of us aren't collectors, we are accumulators. By being an accumulator you will eventually be exposed to certain knives and will gravitate to them and all of a sudden you find your self with a collection, maybe.
