New guy from Montana
New guy from Montana
Well it looks like I finally found a place that I can find some things out about my knives! I'm Larry, I live in Montana with my wife and dog, (yeah, I know, it sounds like a country song), anyway, My wife and I are avid vintage and antique nuts. In my real life I am a contractor, Hunter, Fisherman, and outdoorsman. I started to get involved in knives when I was young when I was able to buy my first knife with money that I had saved up and from there it was all downhill. I have since passed that disease along to my son. I love old vehicles, especially trucks. My wife is my best friend and co-conspirator in looking for old things at auctions and yard sales. My wife is a wood carver, she does most of her stuff in a smaller scale than most and is incredible. Well enough about us, I guess it is time to do some lurking here and see what I can find!
Thanks for having us!

Welcome to AAPK! Sounds like you’ll fit right in here! Looking forward to seeing pictures of your collection. And if you haven’t found it there’s a subforum here on whittling and carving, so we have a place where your wife can show her wood carving talents.

Larry, almost everything you said about yourself, I could say "me too". I haven't done any wood carving for some time and mine was more whittling. My wife and I are into anything old and antique. She isn't into the knives but helps me find them. Show us some pictures of what you have accumulated so far. ___Dave

Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard. Get out, explore and click on things, you can't break the Forum. If you have questions on how to do something, take a look in the "Tips & Tricks" Forum. It's not all encompassing but it makes a pretty good dent. Most of all, socialize and post pictures. We loves us some pictures here and Brian (owner of AAPK) has made sure we have plenty of storage to add more.
Edit: I've only been to SE Montana (Livingston --► east) but I very much like what I have seen.

Hi Larry:
Nice to meet you. Glad you found us. There's a lot of good folks here. Don't be afraid to ask questions and post photos of your knives. We like pictures. And feel free to post photos of your wife's carvings, we'd like to see those as well.
There's also quite a few stores here where you can find good knives. Haven't met a seller here who wasn't honest and straight forward.

Welcome to the forum, Larry.
As others have said, show pictures of your antiques and artifacts.
I lived in Sanders County in the Cabinet Mountains on the Bull River in 1979. Got married there.

Re: New guy from Montana
Welcome, I'm sort of new also. In all my travels I've never been to Montana, but my youngest son has fallen in love with the state. He and his wife just got back from there after going ice fishing with Pete from Pete's Tackle Shop in Kalispell, Montana.unklgriz wrote:Well it looks like I finally found a place that I can find some things out about my knives!
