All About Pocket Knives

Hey all. Have had several pocket knives over 50 or more years. But never took much bother about them til now. Look forward to learning some good tips on repair and restoration.
Heres my multi tool knife my father bought me way back in 1968 for Christmas. Looking foward to giving it a new lease of life..

Your knife is very valuable to you but it is not an inherently valuable or rare knife so don't worry too much about the cleaning process. Don't strive for a shiny new knife look; just get rid of the dirt and surface rust and make all the joints as functional as possible. Then use it, enjoy it, and think of your Dad.

Thanks for the welcome fellas.
I hear what you say Dennis. The knife is just a 60's Japanese production and has no monetary value at all. But yes has great emotional value.
It is however not an unused item. I have used it frequently on hiking trips in the past few years. But have decided to give it a good clean up ( not complete restore) and have it to admire. I have a few blades my father owned as well in his day. Look forward to making them look a little less neglected.
