Greetings from a fellow enthusiast in Arizona
Hello,
I have been a knife enthusiast since I was in grade school in the 80s. I am fascinated with automatic knives. My dad was also a knife enthusiast and he bought me my first automatic knife when I graduated from high school. It was a 9-inch bolster-release Italian stiletto with flat grind blade and stag scales (the spring is broken, but I still have it after 30 years). I now collect automatic knives almost exclusively. Mostly modern knives from the early 90's to the present, but I still have a soft spot for Italian stilettos.
I just joined, but I am active and semi-active on a few knife forums. I already notice a few names here from those forums and look forward to sharing information with you all.

Hello, Brian_170!
Can't help you with the automatics but I can say welcome to AAPK! Hope you find AAPK to be a friendly place, we do have folks here that know all about stilettos and automatics.

Re: Greetings from a fellow enthusiast in Arizona
As you probably know, we've just recently (Aug. 11th, 2017) had the draconian laws regulating automatic knives here in Illinois set aside or maybe I should say repealed. Good news in one of the most liberal states in these United States. There is still a vestige of ignorance attached to the law in that one must have a FOID card (Firearm Owner's ID card) to own or carry an automatic knife, which makes no sense to me at all. It's the fly in the ointment, so to speak. But who's ever said our lawmakers have a lick of sense?

Here are some of my most recent carry knives.philco wrote: Howdy Brian, glad to have you join us. We love pictures so if you have some to share please do.
The Benchmade 4300 CLA has been my daily carry for a year now. The Microtech Scarab S/E was for a year before that.
I use the Benchmade 710 and Microtech Socom Elite-A mostly for yard work.
The Pro-Tech TR-4 and Ganzo G7482 are for camping.
The Browning Ice Storm and Benchmade Osborne (940-2 handle with 943 blade) are for when I travel to auto-unfriendly states and countries.
