Another Noob!!
Another Noob!!
Just now noticed this sub-forum! Duh!
I've just recently joined AAPK but have been using knives as tools my whole life. Mainly for fishing & hunting. Over the last decade, I started buying for collecting... slowly, just dipping my toes in the water. ....and just recently, have stepped it up, as the USA made folder stuff disappears. I live in the Midwest, namely, the State of Illness, as I like to call it. I love to be outdoors, fishing and hunting.
My username is a throwback to what fighter pilots called being aware of enemy coming up behind them. Check your 6 o'clock. or shortened to Check Six. Some of my favorite WWII heroes were these fighter pilot guys. I got to meet quite a few of them over the years of going to Oshkosh.
My given name is David or better yet, I just go by Dave informally. Nice to be here and learn from you guys!

Edit: I think I already welcomed you but another won't hurt and they're free. Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard.
Thanks for posting this Dave. In what part of "The Great State Of Chicago" do you live?

Thanks! I see you're from Florida... I used to live there.TripleF wrote:Knice to meetcha!
I lived in South Florida for 18 yrs, prior to moving back up to the Midwest. I hunted and fished all over the swamps down there. Favorite fishing spot was the Everglades backcountry, namely the North Prong of Otter Creek near the Cane Patch. Fabulous fishing before the ACOE plugged some of the tidal rivers. Don't know if it's still as good now but it was a honey hole back in the 80's and 90's.

Another official welcome CheckSix, like Jerryd we've already crossed paths here on AAPK .
I just catching up reading and noticed your comment to Triple F about Florida. There is nothing as good as it used to be in Florida, fishing and hunting has changed so much over the 40 plus years we lived in Central Florida, that it is unrecognizable , way too many people. That's why we moved to the panhandle in '73 and now this place is gettin' full of people too!
