Re: Got Whittlers ?
I have been gone for the last two weeks taking care of my parents after they both had surgery.
I came home to a nice user Schrade-Walden 804 in the mail.
I will have to dig around and find a shield for it.
I think I have one somewhere.

Re: Got Whittlers ?
Hi, All:
First of all, I'v gone through the 12 pages of this thread a couple of times, and have enjoyed it thoroughly, but, have also decided that I don't know enough about knife types, to determine what qualifies as a Whittler. I have only two that I'm sure of. Both are J.A.Henckels Whittlers. One, I bought in the 1950 era, I carried and used it for many years, until a long gone friend picked it up from my workbench, and promptly broke off the tip of one of the blades. Well, I put it away for years, and didn't use it, until recently, when I got it out, ground the broken blade into a screwdriver, cleaned it up, and am enjoying it again. While it it was put away, around 1960, I tried to replace it, but couldn't find one with buffalo horn scales, and settled for one with Jigged bone scales. I never did get warmed up to the new one, and it's never been used. When I got it out today, after reading this thread, I found that it's so tight, and stiff, that I can't even get it open with my fingernails. I'll post pictures of them, and maybe the good folks of this Forum can tell me where to find information on classing knife types. Thanks, for sharing this long true tale.
