Crazy ridiculous knives
Crazy ridiculous knives
I almost bought it just for the sheer ridiculousness of it, but the shipping was too much. I have to admit that it looks like it would be fun to play around with, as long as I didn't expect too much from it.
It is almost like a puppy that is so ugly it almost makes it cute.
So, does anyone else have a over-engineered or crazy looking knife picture that they want to share?

Re: Crazy ridiculous knives
Just look at it as a $20 knife and a buck for shipping.

It's a weird one and I think I'm missing something, anyone have any ideas what the gears do?

No competition for that weird piece of hardware but this Rough Ryder is pretty far out there. They call it the "Bull Frog".
And this Skeleton Frame is a little to the left of center.

Re: Crazy ridiculous knives
Look at the tail-end of that thing. There is some sort of catch holding it together. My guess is that it is a fixed blade, but when you squeeze the handle and release the catch, each half of the handle swings up to form a sheath/edge guard. The gears move pieces that allow those halves to lock together.
Maybe?
Maybe?

I gave my grandmother one of those to use as a garden knife, and I have to admit, it does its job pretty well.
However, the handle is way too big and feels quite silly.

PMP "Alpha Beast" weighing in at a whopping 16.5 oz....better have a sturdy belt when carrying this chunk of steel & titanium in your pocket.
Retail price = $550.00 (and all models are currently sold out at DLT)

WTF?!? It looks like a Conan the Barbarian special!!!!
You have to be trusted by the people that lie to you. So that when they turn their backs on you, You'll get the chance to put the knife in….
Re: Crazy ridiculous knives
For those who like a lot of moving parts on a folding knife (or the appearance thereof, at any rate), here's another eBay beauty..."Doom Blade"
I think the Chinese manufacturer probably meant to call it "Dumb Blade"
Thank goodness it comes with a pocket clip AND a belt sheath!!!

From the sublime to the ridiculous:
#1 a weird humpback folder.
#2 a switchblade bayonet.
#3 a finger knife.
#4 a 3 blade knife.
#5 an OTF comb.
#6 an OTF knife w/ attached lighter.
#7 a many-edged knife.

I might buy the otf comb if I had any hair.

Not sure if this is meant to be a two-handed pocket meat cleaver or a medieval head-chopper-offer (for the executioner on the go!)

I was a little surprised at the price tag, too. I guess it takes a lot of steel to make a folding cleaver!

Re: Crazy ridiculous knives
Gil Hibben makes some pretty outlandish "knives". Never really saw the appeal of them myself, but apparently others do.
This very useful cutting/hammering multi-tool is up for auction on eBay--currently sitting at $552.00.
I think this one should be called The Judge & The Executioner (the silver gavel for the judge, the blades for the executioner...no jury required!)

Re: Crazy ridiculous knives
Wow! Although I have no desire to own such a knife, I've seen some cool creations from Gil Hibben, but "Dracula's Doom" is definitely the coolest! Love it, thanks ~Q~!QTCut5 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 10:15 pm Gil Hibben makes some pretty outlandish "knives". Never really saw the appeal of them myself, but apparently others do.

I own several Hibben knives but, mine are relatively normal knives with ridiculous names. However, many of his designs look to be more hazardous to the user than an imagined foe.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 10:15 pm Gil Hibben makes some pretty outlandish "knives".
