Gerber 1052 LB stag. Great little knife, bank vault lock up and no wobble but smooth easy pivot. And my fave GEC #85 with it.

Your Queen sort of took my breath away. I guess I just wasn't expecting so much Winterbottom goodness in one place.

Me too, thanks Quick. That one came from one of the Hawaiian Islands courtesy of Volcano Q. Seemed prettier than any other winter bottom I could find.

I keep coming back to the Moki Chronos in amber stag. So far GEC and Buck have left me underwhelmed on their execution of lock backs but I know my experience isn’t necessarily the norm. Who else does lockbacks right that are a safe bet buying without holding in hand first? Mechanically speaking.

I agree with you, MattR, re GEC lockbacks...I've owned several #72s and a couple #99s and every single one of them had some degree of movement in the open/locked position. I haven't owned any Buck knives for a few years, but as best I can recall, they were all pretty solid in the lockup.
Moki is top notch for lock up no doubt (and the Amber Stag Bone is hard to beat), but IMO the best USA made production lockback is the Case Copperlock (_1549L) or Mini Copperlock (_1749L). Every Copperlock I own (or have ever owned) has rock solid lockup. Copperlocks are definitely a safe bet for solid lockup without having to hold it in hand before buying.

The first Copperlock I tried some years ago actually wasn’t rock solid but it may be time to give another a try. Thanks for the suggestion!

I just got this M1911 . Made by Ultimate Tools and Equipment. I saw it in a thread on here somewhere and thought it looked cool . Been wanting to buy a 1911 pistol but hate the prices . This just might motivate me to “ pull the trigger “ .
It’s really well made . Nice heft to it .
