Age this case fixed blade please

Post by Wobblehead »

I found this in a creek 30 years ago. It was a leather handle that was in rough shape. A few years ago I hit a giant buck with my train and got what was left of the rack and made a new handle. The tank is only marked CASE. Nothing else. I looked it up and can’t find anything matching it.

It looks like a model 709, maybe early to mid 1940's or 50's. ::shrug:: I'm not a Case aficionado, just going by an early photo.

709 has an aluminum handle, none of the knives in the picture have a fuller like the OP knife shows. Mark appears to be 1950s.

Most likely a 325-5 or 325-6 depending on blade length. The last number is the blade length in inches.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
