Show us your Clips! :-)

Post by TPK »

Hope I didn't oversee anything but I couldn't find a thread about things with "Clips" so here goes.
CLIPS:
Knives, Tools & Flashlights,
Sheaths, Pouches & Slips,
Show us anything,
You own with a Clip.

I'll start it off with this RR Slip with a Clip that I have one of my unmarked EDC's in. ::tu::

Tom, what happened to the Dog Bone knife that originally occupied that slip?

My favorite clip is on the Kershaw Three-quarter Ton, Half-Ton and Chubby. It may be on others but my memory's not that good.

A Zippo money clip /knife with my name engraved on it. Was bombed on me by a fellow AAPKer. Amazingly there is some money in it!

It pis_ed me off so I threw it away Jerry! ::woot::

Just joking. ::super_happy:: But the slip with a clip is growing on me. It's a pretty cool little slip and I had that nice no name knife I picked up on EBay that needed a home. It fits in that slip real nice. ::tu:: It sticks out just a bit further than that RR does which makes it easier to get ahold of. ::tu::

@petesknives:
I was hoping you would post that tie clip Ken. ::tu:: :D Such a cool little piece! ::super_happy::

Those "Wrenches" look good Jerry! ::tu::

@ Anyone, maybe some of the customizers:
I'm curious:
Do you know of any smaller tradional folders with clips on them? ::shrug::
Or could you mount a small clip to Derlin? Would the Derlin hold? Or would that be risky? ::shrug::

Thanks for your thoughts,
Tom

I’m not a fan of clips on pocket knives, but I do have a few and have carried a couple occasionally. I think these are the only ones I have presently. The two on the left are Gerbers, plus a Moore Maker and a big Italian-made Fox.

I like the versatile, handy clip on the sheath on this G.W. Stone fixed blade though.

Well here's mine on a Benchmade Osborne - gift knife a few years back from my brother - doesn't fit with my love of old knives but this is no doubt my favorite EDC for the woods and city :D ... The blade fires out of the hole faster than my old Flylock switchblade ::nod:: - and it locks up every time !!

Just about every modern knife I've seen has a clip attached. I don't want to bore you but in addition to what I've already shown, here's a few.

The clip is in the form of a spring loaded Carabiner.

My two "clip" knives. A SOG flash II and a made in China, single blade. The SOG is one of my EDC's and the "China" knife I keep in my glovebox in my truck. I found the "China" knife under a house I was working on just prior to my retirement. My other EDC, a Benchmade (not pictured), had a clip but it fell off.

Love the wrench clip, Jerry!

I, too, am not a fan of the clip.
1) I've never carried a knife with a clip, so it's something I would have to get used to...if I wanted to get used to it. And I really don't want to. But that's me.
B) I work in a school and a clip would draw unwanted attention to the fact I'm carrying a knife. I can inconspicuously take out my pocket knife, open it, and keep the majority of it palmed while I quickly do the job I need to do.
Take care and God bless,

A dear friend gave me this "clip" Victorinox in the 1980s. The friend has passed away, but the knife has stayed in my pocket every day in memory of him. He was one of the finest people I ever knew; a Marine veteran of Vietnam, a district judge with great compassion, and a collector of Sturm Ruger firearms.

Thanks Harold. Indeed it is a nice knife. Got it from your neighbor Mark (knife-nut) a few years ago. Still trying to learn whether North American Cutlery Wichita Kan. has any connection to the North American Cutlery the Case brothers operated as jobbers in Nebraska. ::shrug::
