The collections posted here are too much for my mind to take in ::facepalm:: I am both inspired and depressed... I find myself wanting to fly south to look for knives, or to start sawing away at my wrists. I think I’ll choose the former as, with respect to the latter, I have not mastered sharpening yet!

Thanks Jerry. Availability of collectable “folders” is the big issue here on Vancouver Island, so one’s habit is difficult to feed. Now, if I collected rain, wind or seaweed I’d have an awesome display...

MT-V, You have a beautiful shot of a beautiful boat. Quite a consolation for a dearth of knives. :)

Who needs a hobby when you can live on Vancouver Island?

And I might suggest Ebay. I know a couple of people up your way that have done quite well at acquiring collectible knives through Ebay.

Thanks for the comments. Between eBay, pawn shops, collectable shows, and thrift stores I am able to prevent the shakes of withdrawal.
I look forward to being inspired by the collections that will be posted in this thread. ::ds::

My latest $3Cdn garage sale find. Not a knife, but It was fun reconditioning the stacked leather handle. (Mineral oil & bee’s wax)

MT V, that's pretty cool. Great job on the handle. Never occurred to me about leather handles on a hammer going bad. Obviously I'm not a carpenter. ::tu::

My collection is no where near as large, nicely displayed or has the quality of you folks. These are the majority of my collection they're stored in boxes and rolls. I have a box of modern folders and fixed blades somewhere but just a few of each I also have some nicer knives I'll take pictures of and post later these were in my living room and easy to get to.

redden ,
I sure as heck don't see anything wrong with the quality of knives you have. ::tu:: The only reason I can have as many displayed as I do is because I'm not married. ::ds:: I don't believe there's a woman in the world that would let me turn a dresser mirror, bookcase, entertainment center and coffee table into knife displays...or spend the money to buy all the knives. Now, my good dog Acorn just loves going out to the mailbox with me when a Knife comes in because when I get a treat...she gets a treat.

Real labors of love... ::nod::
From one Saskatchewan dude to BC dude...awesome collection man... ::tu:: Also beautiful pics... ::nod::
I think for us poor forgotten fellas', AAPK and ebay are the places to pickup "knice" knives. AAPK would be better choice, know what were getting. Anyway great job guys... ::tu::

Hey Willy, don’t forget the BC girl who started the thread! :mrgreen:
MT V, try to get over here when the 21st Century Flea Market or thé Rétro Design and Antiques are on at the Croatian Centre in Vancouver. There’s the big antique and collectables show at Queens Park Arena in New Westminster this weekend and the Vancouver Flea on Terminal every weekend. Heck, hop a ferry and drive out to Cloverdale and Abbotsford and hit ‘em all! That’s if I don’t clean them out first!
I’m too young to be this old!

A Bays USA that has been taking pocket time. She's a nice knife for sure. Just they did a bad job during assembly time. All out of alignment. Still work perfect. Strange huh.
