OKCA show April 12, 13 and 14

Post by danno50 »

I guess Dale did not have time to start this thread. I am checked into my motel in Eugene, going to bed shortly to get a good night's sleep. Will post show pictures tomorrow night.

Thank you Dan for starting this thread! ::tu::
I have been getting ready for the show for a month and a half, and I could use another month and a half! ::dang::

I will be down in the morning to set up. I was hoping to get there about nine but I'm not sure I'm going to make it that early.
I guess we'll wait and see.

Looking forward to seeing you Dan and all the other guys. Do you know who else came this year?
Duffer we are going to miss you! Hope you make it again next year. ::nod::

I have some AAPK T-shirts, so come on by if you don't have one or if one of your kids would like a shirt.
My table number is O-10.

Y'all come by now! ::handshake::

I hope Dan was able to get some pictures on Saturday, because I was not able to get a single picture.
I was very busy from opening until close, 8 AM to 5 PM. My wife was unable to be there but my brother came in and helped me from about 11:30 to 3 PM, without his help I would've never made it!
I think this is the best show I have ever had! Often on Friday, the setup day, I don't sell anything. This was a business setup day I have ever had and Saturday was crazy busy. We are leaving soon to go down to the show, thank the Lord my wife is going with me!
Hopefully I will be able to get out and find some more goodies. I did pick up a few nice things, mainly because people bring them to me. With my wife to help me I am hoping to find some treasures to share with y'all and maybe a few pictures to.

This has been probably the busiest show I've ever had.
I wish y'all could have been here! ::nod::

Thanks for the photos Dale and Dan ::tu:: ::tu:: ... One of these years I need to make this event ::hmm:: ... one of the really awesome aspects of this show seems to be the multiple displays - I know the show this year has one fantastic Bowie display with not only the Forrest knife but lots of Price and Will & Finck plus others of 19th century American makers!! I assume some of those knives were Levine’s? Curious to know who put together that display which is no doubt museum quality!!

Well, Alyson and I made it home, with no problems. It was a great show!
Alyson was loading the car while I made one last trip to our table to get my stool and the last tote. When I got to the car she was talking to a lady I was really disappointed that she did get there before the show closed. She said "I got here at 3 o'clock and they would let me in the door." Then she says, you don't have any Kershaws do you?" She put a severe dent in my lower in my less expensive Kershaw inventory! And she and my wife had a nice time chatting, so it was a win-win for everyone!

I will try to get some pictures taken the next few days of all the treasures I came home with. I got a number of project knives including a Case Bowie & several Western fixed blades for restoration. I also met a guy that used to work at the Western factory, so that was very informative!! ::nod::

Well, I think I'm going to go to bed now and sleep till Wednesday!

I am now half way home. My laptop will not recognize my SD card. Will have to try on my desk top at home. It should work there but it will not be until Wednesday evening before I get the rest of my pictures posted. It was a very good show!

O.K.C.A. member Kenny the One arm here , stuck here in South Carolina. I ordered the last Club knife on line. It won't be long , I will have my club knife in my left hand soon. I bought an American Whittler SFO Allegheny GEC#97 Antique yellow jigged bone knife with a large hounds tooth shield. I got two Sambar Stag Allegheny knives on the way. I'll end up with 8 or 9 GEC#97s in my collection. All these knives will look cute together. I can open these big knives between my knees without breaking my thumb nail. "Smooth like butter !" Thank you so very much.
