Well David, you certainly know how this game is played. Your knives came wrapped in some special anti-funk kind of material. Thank goodness for that, because these babies were STINKERS. I tried to look at them as parts knives for some future project, but I was just left holding my nose and scratching my head!

I now understand why you sent them out so quickly!

A little while ago I heard the spinning of wheels and gravel being slung! I saw the back end of a USPS truck careen around the corner, tires squealing and its engine straining to make max horse power. The driver was yelling and pumping his fist out the side door of his truck as it disappeared from view. The door to the mail box was still open and brown liquid was dripping from a partially frozen box that was sitting with my mail. Ken's POS package from the North Pole had arrived! I placed the package in a plastic bag and found a good safe place to open it. I opened the box with care and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was only a little bit of POS Poo in the box. That little bit was almost overwhelming though! The rest of the POS pile was kinda nice ::nod::

The Schrade liner lock at the top is nice and I'm going to put the credit card knife in my wallet. The tipped Kershaw will be re-tipped and cleaned up. The little knife with the sheath is kinda cool as well. The Ka-Bar lock back is packing what looks like a Case spey blade that will without a doubt make it into next years POS roundtable. The HRT boot knife has some very nasty looking rubber handles that I think are going to be replaced with wood or bone and put back into service! Thanks Ken! This is a lot fun as always. ::tu:: I hope that the package that I sent you doesn't ruin your day with the bad smells and nasty runny stuff that made its way into that pile of poo I sent your way!

My mailman dropped off a pound and a half of poo from Goldpan today.
Some are pretty stinky for sure but, he also slipped a couple decent canoes into the mix! :D

Tony111 -- Your crap hit my mailbox today. Literally splattered all over it. Took me 45 minutes to get it cleaned up enough so the postal carrier will continue to deliver mail to me. I'll get that load photographed tomorrow and posted so everyone can see what a disgusting mess you've made.

Ok, maybe I got taken up in the moment and got a little carried away with the POS-eze. Judge for yourself tomorrow.

Ed,
Your kid's reactions is priceless! I love it! That is so much like what my youngest son would've done. He would have been right in the middle of the action!

David,
I'm glad there were a couple things in there you can use. Kershaws are always good, they're kind of the workingman's knife; excellent quality and low price. I went through your old posts and saw that you mentioned Camillus a few times so I thought you might enjoy the Camco. And everybody needs an eatin' tool!
I hope you enjoy them.

Received my package from Old Cutler on Friday.
The three items on the right are handmade by OC.
A knife pick, ink pen and a mini birdhouse. All very cool.
A lot of fun!!
One knife missing in the picture is a small Buck trapper, a buddy of mine was helping me move furniture and he liked it.

Picture is finally taken. The pile is not that bad. I've had worse. In fact, I've sent worse.
The big single blade on the left, is that a dog groomer?
That little Waltham split spring whittler cleaned up pretty well. Bone handles and good snap on all blades.
The bare head pearl handle has a sheet of handle missing on the pile side. One from the mark side was floating but some Gorilla Glue re-attached it.
The Barlow has no snap on the main blade. Something for next years POS Roundtable??
The straight razors could be sharpened and used by someone who knows what he's doing. Maybe I'll send them to Owd Wullie. ::shrug::

Pretty good pile there Edge213, OC's hand made things are the greatest. I have one of his pens. Another POS without much odor. ::tu:: ::tu::

Sundog Knives wrote:With a straight face while still plugging my nose on another frigid Dakota Territory evening, I can attest to the opening and examination of Jon's shipment from West Virginia as one of the highlights of my knife collecting experience. Wife and kids were present as I came home from work and we huddled around the heavy priority mail box curious about its contents. Son, 8+, rushed to get his pocket knife I gave him last year and we proceeded to open it with wonderment, awe and laughs. Eighteen knives in total and the most beautiful pile of sh*t.

Son wants two of more from the group of course and Daughter liked one for herself as well. Wife watched with amazement and indicated she had one picked out she liked too.

(Heck I might even know a knife repairman around town *cough* Olde Cutler to fix up a few of these well loved knives into users once again!)
After a little cleaning those 2 folding hunters look like they would make nice carry knives.

Well, I was sitting happily at my desk doing my work when SUDDENLY....

I began to smell a dreadful odor... The secretary came into my office and said, "The mail delivery van wheeled through the parking lot and pitched this envelope out.... I has your name on it so you are going to have to do something with it."

Whewwww..... what a smell!
Then I realized it had to be a big steaming POS..... AND... It was a few days old. NOT FRESH!!

I reluctantly opened it.... and sure 'nuff.....
A POS....
